Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Since I no longer have a sled, they're pretty much out of reach for me these days. Wish there were some park and ride spots up there, since they're practically in my back yard. Thanks for posting. Super easy access with the newly paved road, steady winds, alright terrain. OK coverage. Hitting it at...

Re: Making Turns?

Soft turns being laid down as forum skier N---76 makes it look simple with relaxed kite control. (Wind is going uphill and also across the slope.)

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

Putting the kibosh on place names posted to the interweb when it ruins it for the rest of us because the ACTUAL SIGNS at that spot say "NO WIND POWERED CRAFT". They are posted to a very large information kiosk in the parking lot. Let's just count on the sign being accurate instead of looking for exc...

Re: Snowkiting - the best part of kiteboarding, but no one c

I was thinking about asking the question "Why are there no American companies making open-cell foil kites ?" Of all the billions of random, miscellaneous expensive consumer goods available in the US, and not a single US company that offers a depowerable foil? My research indicates touring-type depow...

Re: Colorado State Parks

Thanks to everyone for sharing your successful efforts including a great vid on an official State Park page! I'm going to let this sleep until I hear more. I hate seeing this thread killing the all the good stoke and photos. FWIW, I've been in contact with the central administration. At the moment, ...

Re: Colorado State Parks

I was the only person for what felt like 100 miles. FrontRangeJeff absolutely said it perfectly in last year's post when this topic came up. This is a massive space and our activity doesn't affect anyone. The ranger's were still friendly at the time Jeff posted. The ranger said he only sees 2-3 peo...
