Re: Seeking design and build feedback: pocket foil build (paulownia)

Mate, With all due respect, do yourself a favour and use a KISS approach. It might sound shocking but I would never ever attempt to do something like this. Why? B/c Paulovnia 12mm core it a tank when glassed both sides with light FG. Weight? Umm, maybe 3kg or Less? Rocker can be made in a few ways t...

Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2020

Once you've tried a Peak4 with a surf foil everything else seems so ordinary. Sure you can drop them and they might not relaunch, but they are easy to wind up and swim in with. Easier than a self rescue with a deflated LEI kite. However I've only ever had the 3m Peak4 in the water. It's only happen...

Re: Predictions for Ram Airs in 2020

True, But the amount of swimming in, exponentially increases with the number of riding in this conditions. Happens to everyone. Look, if there is no snow (wind) in xyz country, no real need to pursue skiing (kiting), as main recreation. Plenty of other options. On the other hand with plenty of cash/...

Re: twintip use inappropriate

Nothing less "can of worms" than YOU are mate... Except you are a native English speaker and Im not ;) Try to argue on Spanish with your fellow citizens. Yes, localism is something very live and active, and should be embraced in my books. I Explained why tho. Im sorry to learn that you do not have a...

Re: twintip use inappropriate

No I did not say that. For 3rd time its a "can of worms" and my view does not negate yours and vice versa. Some would say 25 mi is 50km and thats not local at all in my view. Maybe 2.5 mi would be a local in some views. Dunno. Depends. In 25 mi you can be in 3 different countries in the EU. So no lo...

Re: twintip use inappropriate

Take ie Vietnam, or all Asia, almost no locals kite there. They cant afford it. Only 'rich' Westerners can. We talking > billion local people here... In AU, we have mixed dwellings on the beach allocated to people who are not rich. It is created on purpose by the Government. This properties cant be ...

Re: twintip use inappropriate

That’s legal localism Restricting access to some small group (local residents, surfers, fishermen, etc) is ass-holism. No, not really. Sorry. This would work If and only if the residents and visitors are of the same background, income, etc. Most of the time they are not. $60 for local might be huge...

Re: Buying 2nd hand Peak 4: do they stretch or anything to be aware of?

Quite a few in the EU.

Plus 51 used Souls, all sizes.

But only for us. Sorry.

To be fair, new P4 is not that expensive even in AU, $750.

Re: My New Year board build!

Not sure,

Some of the most expensive boards, like this CF, have fins very close to the end.

For this one, I drilled the 3rd fin hole to be able to move it per rider request:
