Re: South Africa first timer

And the gems. Like grootvadersbos. An ancient forest tucked away. It might be my favorite tip as a local.

Re: South Africa first timer

Not disputing the fact that this is perhaps one of the great spot threads on this forum.

The weather analysis alone is worth its weight in gold.

Re: marc jacobs kota - pushed harder than anyone

Marc Jacobs was the ONLY rider interviewed during the entire event who bitched about the rules and how they counted against him. Poor lamb.

Made him sound like a sore loser and well, like a bee-ach.

Visiting CPT for kitesurfing in Jan/Feb is an intrinsic mistake, from my point of view.
Spoken like someone who's not visited Cape Town in January and February..

Re: Cape Town safety and riding convention basics

4.Rider with right hand forward on the bar has right of way. (in other words the person on the incoming tack at Blouberg has right of way) Its sad to see this misinformation spread even more. There is no "right of way" at sea. Chief. Re point #4. This is local riding etiquette. Use it. Don’t use it.

Re: Cape Town safety and riding convention basics

Thursday at the end of the day there was an injured kiter at Kite beach, at least his left knee and possibly his hip. Helped get him out to the ambulance. Most folks need to use a little extra care here especially at the crowded spots, and best get off the water late in the day when the wind is str...

Cape Town safety and riding convention basics

Ahoi everyone As a local I can confirm that this season has been the most crowded I have ever seen Cape Town. In that context, just a quick note to remind repeat visitors (its nice to see you again!) and give brand new arrivals in the Mother City a snapshot of local kite etiquette. 1.Be friendly and...
