Egypt Red Sea, October

Heading to the Red sea mid-october to kite and dive with my family (Wife kites) and another non-kiting family. With so many options and places to enjoy I wanted to reach out and see if any one has any suggestions on where to stay. Open to most areas including the Sinai. I understand that Mid-October...

Eastern Cape SA, Port Alfred in October?

I am thinking about spending a week at my friends ocean side condo in Port Alfred the third week in October with my family. I understand that it is spring and can be rainy, my SA local friends and research say it can be windy there that time of year, but archived wind data seems to be all over the p...

Re: Myanmar Wave Riders Cup

Nice to see kiting is now making an official presence in Myanmar as the country continues to open up to the world. I lived in Yangon from 2006-2009 and kited many of its beaches back then while extensively traveling the country. I found most of the coastline on the Bay of Bengal to have light to no ...

Re: Paros Greece Kite Spot

Might be heading to Greece or Crete for spring break in early April. Any wind then at any of the islands or are areas like Paros driven mostly by summer thermals?

Re: Cap Town info

Currently living in Lagos Nigeria and heading to Capetown for three weeks over the holidays. I need to get a surf board for kiting and two wetsuits. Back home l ride the 5'10" Celeritas and the channel islands dumpster diver. Looking for some suggestions on shop names that have a good rep and not ju...

Re: Southeast Asia in May/June

Unless you're under 100lbs, wind in Bali is not very good during that time. The place I would go is Sri Lanka if you want to kite. I have been to both that time of year

Lagos Nigeria?

Heading there in a year to teach at an international school. Have done a few searches on this site and have found dated and limited info on the kite situation there. Was wondering if any one had knowledge of the season, kite size and preferred beaches.

Go Pro Warning

Wanted to share a rather unfortunate event with everyone. On a great wave day here on Lake Michigan and after capturing some amazing footage in long head high plus waves my Go Pro Hero 3 sank as I handed the camera to another rider for filming. We did the hand off well outside the surf zone in water...

Re: What is the real low end of the 2012 RPM 12m?

I have about 15 sessions on my new 2012 12m Rpm this season. I weigh 185lbs, ride fresh water and bought it to replace my 11m Octane. I ride the 12 on my 134 tt between 19 up to 27mph. My light wind kite is a 13 rev and there is a difference for sure between the two and its more than one sq meter.

Re: Any recommendations for Bali in June!

Plenty of places to party...... and an even better place to chill

I wouldn't bet on wind for kiting, but you will get waves.

Leave your kite at home
