Re: Foiling 360 - Kite and Bar Position Tips (with video)

Thanks for a great video Rob. It has helped me smooth out my wheel based 360 and 180. For info my mind set had been to send the kite to what I call BZ (just behind zenith) and sheet out for the carve into wind then pull to complete the loop once turned to see kite. This was ok for the 360 but the k...

Re: Foiling 360 - Kite and Bar Position Tips (with video)

Ok, after a few sessions of dedication now I’m starting to get the idea of 360s. One direction only at this stage. I’m riding a moses 633, strapless, and use LEIs (wave kites in the smaller sizes). Having reasonable speed and good power going into the upwind carve made a big difference and it’s sta...

Re: Foiling 360 - Kite and Bar Position Tips (with video)

How long does it take to complete this trick, im trying this for more than 10 hours. I'm struggling when I go upwind my board landed as my kite didn't finish the loop, maybe I'm doing the 360 in a short circle. My front wing has 700 cm², a large one will be better? Yeah 10 hours for any of these mo...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

This is an interesting article that looks at the mitigation and herd immunity options and gives some good reason why they might not work in the long term either. He pushes for the Hammer and the Dance! Makes some sense:

Re: Wind range F-One Breeze

I ride Bandits and Breezes. When I was learning 10m was my biggest kite and that did me fine for a long time (back then I was riding Neo's). But kite size is a personal thing, as Peter said above you can use a 9m in very low winds if you like but it does depend on the foil you ride, the style of rid...

Foiling 360 - Kite and Bar Position Tips (with video)

I've posted a couple of videos on Facebook/Instagram the last few days with some tips for the foiling 360 (the versions starting on your heelside, entering by carving upwind and no foot changes). I focused on the bar position in the first video, as this is really crucial to allow the kite to get in ...

Re: Strapless Foiling Roll Tacks

Kite position through the tack is key - here's something I wrote in a comment elsewhere but gives the key steps to get the kite flying correctly: Try directing the kite up so it's nearly at 12 before you start carving upwind Then as you carve, sheet right out, so the bar hits the stopper - this will...

Re: El gouna or Soma bay June

I went to Soma bay last year in June and am going back this year too. We stayed at the Breakers hotel and kited from 7bft Kite House. It was great with flat water, wind every day and a nice temp - only a couple of really hot days. The wind starts early in the morning and if you are twintipping its b...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Xn0Vdf1E8s There is one bad habit that most people slip into when learning to Kitefoil and often have no idea how much it is affecting their progression. What is it?
