Re: BAKL Cape Town 2021 Feb 25 - Big Air Competition

Took advantage of the BAKL event to test out my new camera and put a few shots together. Great event, all the riders went full send in some bloody strong wind and well done for the BAKL crew for putting it all together - ran pretty damn smoothly for a small group without any fizzy drink money ;-) ht...

Re: Toe to Heel Tack - One Tip That Changes Everything - Learning the Kitefoiling Tack Series

Thanks for sharing this Dave. I've been wanting to make a Toe to Heel video since some discussion on Kiteforum 18 months ago got me thinking about how best to really learn this trick. I've spent a lot of time filming and analysing the movements and pretty pleased with how this video worked out. Hope...

Re: Fone Mirage Carbon 1000 - (opinions)

I've ridden the Mirage Carbon 1000 as my main kitefoil (was on the previous Mirage 1000 v2 before that) for about 9 months and if I had to sum it up, I'd say that there is nothing different I want from my kitefoil, it does everything I need and I'm still able to push myself and learn new skills and ...

Re: Bar compatibility F-One Bandit 2016

In my experience...the F ones never flag out after pulling the release...you have to start reeling in the line until the stopper... I always assumed its the design that keeps the kite so loaded that makes it quick I havent flown since F1 since 2014, but all my F1 s from 08 to 2014 acted the same......

Re: Bar compatibility F-One Bandit 2016

Just to add - when you get your new bar, check the line lengths compared to the older Monolith bar - and by line length I mean the difference between the front and rear lines. I say this as a friend has the same kite and swapped to a 2019 lynx bar. Rode it for a few months and was struggling a bit w...

Re: Best winging video to date (IMHO)

Anyone know the volume of some of those smaller boards? "4’2’’ or 4’4’’ and 25 litres" for Titouan, the guy doing the big crazy tricks. He chats about the boards and foils he is riding here: https://magazine.wingsurfworld.com/issue-01/wave-wonder/ The smallest F-one Rocket wing is 4'8" and 44L thou...

Re: New Progression Foot Change video review

I bought this video, I can say it's the BEST tutorial I have seen. I can assure you that you won't regret. Awesome, glad you like it and it's helping with those foot changes. I wish you have this kind of video about Surfboard Strapless freestyle tricks. Now I have this next collection of Kitefoilin...

Re: Another UK Fatality

Though this thread has ended up being a discussion on safety devices and getting held down in waves - it doesn't look like that is what actually happened here. The preliminary post mortem shows it wasn't drowning and his friends there that day didn't see him held down and he was even that far off th...

Re: Pocketboard question

I'm a bit heavier than you at 100kg and I generally ride a 130 but I did have a 96cm board for a month which was a lot of fun. The thing was I ended up back on the 130 and found that it was far easier to keep progressing and learning new tricks because you can make a mistake and keep riding. On a sm...
