Re: 5 nights in langebaan

8/11 combo would give you way more flexibility for sure. And often you can get some good deals on kites so you might pick up a bargin on a 12.

And look forward to see you out there and hopefully get you out on a foil - kitefoil in the morning, twintip session in the afternoon 😄

Re: 5 nights in langebaan

I've spend the last few winters living in Langebaan (after years in Blouberg) and heading out again from the UK at the weekend for the season, so know the place pretty well. Kiting wise - main beach and Sharks bay are the main spots. You can also head out from the Club Mykonos and there can be a few...

Is there any info about the rigid part breaking and warranties, please?
Never had any issues and not heard of any from fone or friends with halos, so news to me.

Re: Kitefoiling First Attempt; Advice?

I could write you an essay with tips but a few keys things that might help: 9-11 knot can be great kitefoiling weather but its hard to learn in (not impossible but harder) I generally start teaching in 12-15 knots and 15-20 is great, depending on the location. Sub 12 knots just requires way more kit...

Re: Cannot get the kite in zenith

A 4m is pretty small. Toe to Heels are generally easier to learn on slightly smaller kites (6-9m) as they are easier to lose line tension/power/lift and send overhead. And if you get some clips send them over and we can have a virtual coaching session - easy way to see the exact issues and fix them ...

Re: Cannot get the kite in zenith

Sorry I thought you said 360 - what you are experiencing with the Toe to Heel Tack is whatever goes through! I've taught several people to do these over the last year and they seem impossible until you make the smallest of tweaks to your technique and then bam! they just start working! Everything in...

Re: Cannot get the kite in zenith

I'd add three key related areas to focus on that might be causing you to get pulled backwards which I don't think have been mention explicitly: To get the kite to fly right to the front of the wind window, directly over head, you need ensure that you haven't sheeted out completely as you fly the kit...

Re: Fone Mirage

I've been riding F-one foils for the last 5 years and ridden most of them plus have got a lot of friends and clients setup with them. First up, I'm 100kg and an advanced foiler, riding strapless on a 110 board but I'm a kitefoil coach working with beginners through to advanced kitefoilers so will tr...

Re: Down Sizing Foil Board for Kite

You are opening up a can of worms here 🤣 You'll get a lot of different options on shorter kitefoil boards! A lot of people love them but here is my thoughts... and really it depends what you want to do with your kitefoiling. If you want to keep doing the stuff you already can, polish those existing ...
