Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

interesting view, k2thiago.. Yes new core bars do not break apart.. everything with titamium rode will hold.. but old sensors - they definitely broke.. but as you said pre-2014...ask me how I know? :-) the biggest problem for me in the sensor2 (and 3, I guess) is the plastic center lines.. - I broke...

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

I gave up on sensor bars.. too expensive and too many problems with it (I'll probably get beaten up here if I start listing :-) )
What's seems to be working with my XR4-5s is 2019 duo trust bar which you can get new for ~350$

Re: Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

did you try to play with the lengths? You may need extra knots on pigtails.. While both bars technically "equal length" bars when you do the usual test, the V vs Y geometry make them slightly different when the kite is flying.. So you'll need to compensate for that.. your kite will either be a bit ...

Re: 17m kite Overkill

once you go hydrofoil route, kite sizes don't matter much..
I was foiling on 17m one day and my friend was on 7m (both LEIs).. it was about 10kts and both had fun..
Very different fun though.. he was mostly in to pumping and I was in to boosting..

Re: What is the lowest wind you can kite in?

It is true. Every extra knot of low end under 10-12kts adds probably $1000 to your quiver when moving into foils and foil kites. But some places you need this if you want to get out often. If you can’t afford it then just go biking or something. Stick to 10kts+, leave under ten knots to the rich ol...

Sold Soul 15 and bought Peak 4 8m, 5m and 4m. They suit me more for foiling, and I dont ride TT more than once or twice a year. It was a great kite in any case.
No way you can boost 30ft in 10kts with peaks.. 15 soul no prob.. but as you said... your style..

Re: flysurfer soul 15m ?

Nice photo! How would the 15m be on a 50cm Naish bar with 24m lines ? Bit slow in guessing. The line lenght will be perferct. I used to use the Soul 15 with 3 meter extensions so somewhere on 23 or 24 meter. However it would be faster on a 55 or 60 cm bar. I used 55cm RRD V8.2 bar for the photoshoo...

Re: flysurfer soul 15m ?

Soul does not shine in 10-16mph on TT for me.. but this range happens to be super fun boosting time on race hydrofoils.. You should be getting 25-40 woo feet jumps.. Now if it gets to 20kts -15 soul is dope for TT oldskool.. a shot from yesterday..
