Re: Stop this thing

as touched on above there is only one thing worse than a death run. A flying toeside death run, you need counselling after a bad one of them. usually the first one you manage, its that scary you rarely repeat it. Ha ha! Yes! This is the only time that I've ended up feeling like I couldn't control m...

Adam Withington goes BIG here. Maybe on the Slingshot Phantom foil kite, I think....
Yeah, that's the gold standard eh. The only one I remember
You're right, brother. I've yet to see anyone go bigger on a foil. And that cover of Voodoo Child is pretty badass, IMHO. ;)

Re: Losing the front hook

And boosting off the board is kinda fun :D Tbh: first time I read this I thought people were joking, but it actually seems ile something to try out :) Sometimes I ride so long without falling off that my feet hurt and I need a break. Seems as good an excuse as any :D I totally get why people would ...

Re: We should be wearing sunglasses throughout the day and especially while kiteboarding! Why aren't we?

A post similar to this came up sometime last year. I had recently crashed so hard that I broke my last pair of Surf Shades and was looking to replace them. I wanted something with better lenses and decided to give the Lip Typhoons a shot. Long story short, I liked them so much that I contacted them ...

Re: Fishing kitesurfing ?

Any reason not to just tie this to the handle on the back of your harness, taking care to use line small enough to break in case you catch something...larger than anticipated? ;) Once you know you've got one on, just head in to the beach and pull it in the rest of the way. Seems possible, right?

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

You're not allowed to launch/land at Pea island. You can be on water all you want. Also wherever it's national/federal land coast (Salvo Day use area, Planet, etc) - you can't run a business from there. Meaning kite schools can't do "official" downwinders or lessons My main reaction to seeing that ...

Re: Harness replacement webbing

One quick note that would seem sort of obvious, but took me about 10 years ( ) and numerous harnesses breaking on me to figure out. When you take your harness off, even though only one side opens up, loosen up the straps on BOTH sides. B/c only one side opens up, I was only loosening THAT sid...

Where I often ride its common to see slicks when fish are schooling -often menhaden on east coast US,
I actually first noticed this when my father pointed it out to me while we were fishing. You can sometimes actually notice the fishy smell of the large school below.

Re: Ebay treasure trove - where old kite gear goes to die.

I'm amazed sometimes with what people drop by with and ask me to take a look at/fix. They're always newbs, no lessons yet, got a REALLY good deal on Craigslist, Ebay, etc...and couldn't pass it up. One time, I had a guy come in and told me this same type of story. I went out to look at it. It was an...
