Re: Moses Onda is there better for me

I haven’t ridden the Onda but I’m really enjoying my Cloud 9 S24. They are on sale for $1099. Definitely worth a look.

Re: Getting out through a shore break dump with a foil

The two things that make this easier for me are a low volume board and a big wing. Much easier to duck under the shore break with a low volume board and easier to to do a flying start with a big wing once there is a break in the waves. Last one is timing the set waves and heading out during a lull i...

Re: Moses T38 vs T22

I have been riding the 106 cm Kanaha Shapes board as my only board with my Cloud 9 S24 surf foil for the last few months. No issues with the 106 cm board in winds for my 3.7m to 10.4m Clouds. With the surf foil I have no issues getting started as long as there is enough wind to keep my Cloud kite pa...

Re: Sanding the trailing edge and wing tips of the LF Impulse?

Compared to my other foils my Cloud 9 (LF Impulse) is very dull. I would not sand it.

The dull tips and edges was one of the selling points for me. Seems a lot safer than other foils.

my frustration with the clouds is the very narrow sweet spot for each size. if I was riding clouds again I would need 4 clouds to cover 8 to 35 knots. with the reo I need two kites!
What size Reo’s do you fly?

Before Clouds my go to quiver was 7m, 9m, and 13m first gen C4’s.

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

No issues riding the lasted generation of Clouds over powered on wave boards. The earlier versions would flap a bit when depowered but the latest versions have a very tight leach. Surprisingly they also jump pretty good.

Re: Cloud9 foil feedback

I been kiting on the Cloud 9 S24 surf foil exclusivity for the last 6 months. I sold all my other foil gear after getting the Cloud 9. I’m a surf guy and I feel like switching from a standard foil to a surf foil was like switching from a twintip to a surfboard. My foiling was get stale on a standard...

Re: The stagnant foiler.

Time for a surf foil. I was stuck and not progressing and then I got a surf foil. Now I’m foiling through all my transitions, riding waves much better, and just got my 360’s down.

Re: Moses Onda 633 vs Liquid Force Impulse foil

I find it really interesting to hear about what foils everyone likes to ride. Can’t wait to see where the sport will be in 15 years. Do you know what length the mast was and if the stabilizer was mounted in the forward location? I’m a little over 2 years into to foiling and over 17 years kiting. I s...

Re: I give in

Lifetime surfer with over 18 years kiting. Mostly on Surfboards the last bunch of years. Started foiling a little over 2 years ago. I have pretty much foiled every session unless the waves are too big to foil for the last 2 years. My favorite setup for kiting is the Cloud 9 S24 surf foil and 42” Kan...
