Measure your Z lines, common for those to shrink on an older foil kite. Easy fix is add a couple cm pigtails. Easy way to check if this is your problem is fully trim in and see if your kite still acts the same way.
The 13m is a pretty slow kite so I would go with a 55-65cm kite. High/low V doesn't matter. The longer the bar the less you'll really have to crank it to turn tighter. I can't recommend the Connect2 bar since I had mine break fairly quickly with 0 support from FS on it. A shame because I liked it. A...
Hello everyone. Recently I had a super fun light wind kite foil freerace/freeride session with the Flysurfer Sonic 4 12 m. This kite is way more stable than the Sonic 3 13 m is very fast upwind and downwind. Here's a short video. Have fun and ride safe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH3OMK4QQpw If...
What I loved about the Soul was its loop You mean the grunt in its loop? I did not spend a lot of time on Soul but that is exactly what I found hard to control and what bothered me for foiling. Of course on twintip that’s fun. Sonic 3 is similar in that sense. When I steer it up for a jump I don’t ...
I think making this kite was kinda a kneejerk reaction to the Gin Spirit. It seems like Flysurfer is focusing even more on ease of use even if it sacrifices performance. I haven't ridden the Sonic4 yet but I would imagine it's a better jumper than the Soul2 and would be the superior kite. Now I wor...
I would really call the Sonic4 more like a Soul3(or even a Speed6). The Sonic's were always about being race kites...VMG was professional full on race, while the straight Sonic was for more the weekend racers/enthusiasts. I think making this kite was kinda a kneejerk reaction to the Gin Spirit. It s...
Should have tried the Peak5. Drifts/holds shape much better than the 4th gen. I'll take slightly more difficult drift ability over a non responsive kite.
This is relevant if you have to land solo in high winds without a helper of a catcher or a wind shadow. Sometimes you cannot avoid a tangle in those situations. Basically, landing a Peak or Hybrid in a wind shadow - or very light wind - avoids most problems with tangling. If it lands on a windswept...
