Go for wave or foil specific kites! I´m riding wave kites only (and the Naish Boxer 2019) since many years and I haven´t managed to invert any of these even when driving into the kite (straight down the wave in cross-onshore wind) like a total noob. A good wave / foil kite will never invert, even du...
Hi, some Firewire models are offered in a surf and a kitesurf version (e.g. Evo, Vader), both versions are "Helium" construction. Are there any differences between the two versions apart from the finish? The Helium construction is so simple, I just cannot imagine that there´s any difference in const...
Hi,
I´m wondering if the 2020 "modular" connectors (Fireball, Rope Slider, Large & Small Loop) are compatible with the 2018 bar´s "Fireball" connection.
I´d like to use the 2020 rope slider with my 2018 Fireball 1X bar.
Thanks in advance for your input!
Its always wise to wait some years. Until the new (and then used) stuff gets cheap... Who can be so stupid to buy anything new? I´ll never understand this. With the Aluula it will be even better to buy 2nd hand as this material will hardly deteriorate. As they claim. So an old used kite will be like...
No need to get over-academic here. I can recommend the Firewire Evo in 5.3 for 85 kg. I owned one in 5.1 (I´m 75 kg) and sold it after two seasons as I have more fun with my Vader 5.1 in my local conditions (pure windswell, on average strong wind). The Evo planes really, really early and is pure joy...
Gong is a company in France and quite popular there. On the German kitesurf forum (surfforum.oase.com) Gong is quite intensely discussed (experiences / reviews, build quality, price level) since some months, particularly in terms of their extremely attractively priced foil kit. The reviews are all v...
I have the 5.1 Vader (and had the 5.3 Vader, 5.1 Evo, 5.2 Vanguard). Recently bought the Pro Wam in 5.10 (25.4 liters). I´m 75 kg The 5.1 Vader is ideal for 75-80 kg I´d say. The 5.3 felt slightly big (long) for me, but still OK. If you want to ride decent waves (from head-high) I wouldn´t recommend...
My car consumes 5 l/100 km diesel (or 47 mpg for the US guys here). Particulate filter, converter for CO / NOx. And in most cases I take another fellow kiter or two with me to the beach. Still not good for the environment, but OKish from my point of view. And: YES, pro surfers should offset their fl...
