Re: About real small pocket boards < 1 m, benefits and limits

What rider weight(s) are we talking about? I can not see how one can recommend any size without this knowledge :naughty: 8) PF Other than the extremes, I’m not sure I agree. I would definitely take the rider’s weight into account for purposes of determining kite size on any given day, but, assuming...

Re: About real small pocket boards < 1 m, benefits and limits

I don’t think 105 is too small. In fact, my biggest board (small dwarfcraft) is about that size. I use it in lighter* wind *I don’t chase light wind, so take my comments for what they are worth. I use the dwarfcraft in 8/9kn with a 10m LEI. That’s as low as I care to go right now. One question about...

Re: Kites available in sizes smaller than 4m?

I can’t imagine flying a 12m in 20kn. I change my 7m out for my 5m at 15/16kn and my 5m for my 4m at 18/19kn. Use a normal TT or diri and you can fly normal kites! :cool2: I love flying small kites. I just got a 3m and I can’t wait for the next 20kn+ day to try it out. Small kites are the new normal.

Re: The “Other” Tack

I’ve never tried this kind of tack, but I’m going to give it a shot next time I’m out. It seems much less intuitive to me than a roll tack, because with a roll rack you just rotate your body the same way you are carving the board. I never windsurfed or rode a directional before starting foiling, so ...

The “Other” Tack

I’m looking for tips on how to do the “other” tack. I don’t know if I have my terminology right, but my understanding that the tack you see the racers do is called the duck tack or the roll tack. I’m not looking for tips on that kind of tack. I’m looking for tips on the other tack. In the duck tack ...

Re: Foilboarding Kite Sizes

I bought a Naish Boxer 9m and I see why they work so well for foiling. I would like to buy an even smaller kite and was hoping that someone could give me suggestions on the next appropriate size down. I was thinking 6 or 7 meter. Thanks I would suggest that you should consider your normal condition...

For sure you lose power with super tight loops. Some kites will pinwheel with no power some kites won’t. Open it up a bit to get max power.
Yeah, this. Don’t choke the bar and make the loop a low, long sweeping turn with a wide radius for the most power.

Re: Adding custom footstrap placement on Hypermiler board

I would go with Kami’s approach. Unless you want the back strap for jumping, you could also try a hook facing forward in the most forward back screw hole.
