Re: Kite manufacturers: please stop using plastic

Elephant in the room of course is that for many people, kiteboarding revolves around long haul air travel to exotic locations.. probably a fair bit more environmental impact in that than there is in the packaging!

Re: mystic stealth bar

The added benefit would be that it would use a single knot to form the loop and this could be in front of the bar making it easier to adjust.

Re: mystic stealth bar

I'm wondering if there could be some neat way to create the central mini loop when converting from a hook bar by running a continuous loop of dyneema which forms both the main slider plus the mini loop. Would need a knot and something to stop the loop from pulling through the slot.

Re: Ring for RideEngine rope spreader bar

Has anyone tried that slingshot Talon on a North/Duotone bar? Are the ropes the correct diameter to fit it? edit: or is that picture very misleading - is it just the metal bit for 30usd or the whole mechanism?

Re: Duotone 2020

Yep I agree, looking at the ratio of bars sold to line sets is very misleading. Line sets from Duotone cost as much as a new bar on closeout and are clearly priced to force people into buying a whole new bar. You can't seriously be surprised that very few people buy them? I'm not sure who in their r...

Re: Duotone 2020

Yes I think it's the audacity to charge top tier prices for second rate lines that doesn't reflect well on the brand (or the rest of it's products). For the price of these bars I'd expect the lines to be gold coated. Having had wear issues on all of my previous North bars, I was all set to buy a cli...

Re: Better grip before jump in chop?

Yeah watching a recent video of Nick Jacobsen boosting on flat water he fully releases the edge and hops off the water before loading - same as for unhooked pop. Looking forward to trying that technique out.

Re: Questions on Mystic Stealth bar..

Ok that brings me on to yet another safety issue... using a thin metal ring on a regular chicken loop means that the pressure is concentrated in a point load and the whole loop is deformed and almost folded in half. On a normal metal harness hook this happens a bit but the load is spread across two ...
