Re: New LE material

Any idea of the cost and benefits? Is it lighter or stronger than current materials?

Re: Long term review of Nobile Split foil/surf and twintip

Hey bkkite, I have a favour to ask - would you mind measuring the dimensions of the mast to board mounting holes so that I can figure out whether my Liquid Force foil will work on this board? I know you said it's compatible with SS but I don't know the SS dimensions either. And a general question, d...

Re: New world record: 39.11 knots for 1 nautical mile

I don't understand why the speed record is not held by a rider on Hydrofoil. I read an interview by Alex Caizergue talking about his record and he said that with his current setup he can reach a speed of 1.1 or 1.2 times the wind speed. Meaning that for his 58 knots records, he was riding with at l...

Re: cabrinha trimlite bar?

thanks - excuse the naivete, but the bottom one is the new one with the "black webbing sewn in to prevent the trim line from getting pulled in too far"? And the idea here is that one could just replace the line, and that wold then include the newer fix for lockups? Sounds simple. Yes. The part numb...

Re: cabrinha trimlite bar?

The old and the new in the pic. Not much you can do except change the line or just dont pull it in too far. You would replace the line in any case when it gets too worn. It's real simple to do and there's a Cabrinha tech tip video on youtube showing how.

Re: cabrinha trimlite bar?

I posted about this in a different thread (https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2404829&p=1102269#p1102269) but never got any comments so I will try again here: I find on my trimlite that if I trim out all the way for maximum depower (ie: pull full in on the bungee), then the termination (thic...

Re: Learning to Kitefoil - No. 1 Bad Habit - Fix This and Become a Better kitefoiler!

This seems like quite a good instructional video, except for the 'open the door' part. All the riding is done here with only one hand on the bar!

Re: Learning on monofoil

You're gonna buy the monofoil anyway right, even if you start on a 'normal' foil? So just buy it and try it. If you struggle too much, then you might need to buy a traditional foil, but hopefully you wont have to. In any case if you really get into foiling it wont be long before you have a few of th...

Re: The craziness is underway in Cape Town

I sat out Wednesday, but yesterday, with another weak forecast for Bloubergstrand, a local friend, David, and I headed back to Platboom around noon, which we had to ourselves, but eventually tired of the gusty conditions yanking us around on 7m. So after a nice lunch in Scarborough we headed back t...
