Re: Surfr + burner phone = Poor Man's Woo

I gave the Surfr app a go for the first time yesterday and came away really impressed. I used my everyday iphone 7 (Put it in a waterproof cover) in wet suit mode on the low sensitivity setting and I will have to say it seemed to be accurate. I always figured these apps and devices over exaggerated ...

Re: Does waist harness slide up on drysuit? Should I just use wetsuit?

Any tips on sizing for a drysuit? Yeah hopefully you're tall and thin... I have a medium Soul and it could fit someone who was 6'4 if they were thin enough. The shoulders on the medium are tight for me with a 40-42" chest. I like the suit but don't feel like they have great sizing especially for sh...

Re: RideEngine new Unity Spreader bar

I like the idea of this being rigid all the way around. My biggest issue with the harness I have now is how it squeezes on my sides and the fatigue that goes with riding for an extended time. I would think this would almost entirely eliminate it. I wouldn't say its a direct rip off of the stealth ba...

Re: Wakefoiling with no rope technique

I've been able to ride behind my Ski Nautique which does not have a large wake. It has a small sweet spot that is ride able but it is doable assuming there isnt a head wind and yes that makes a huge difference especially if you have a nice tail wind. I generally go about 12-13 and ride in a similar ...

Re: Corolla, NC Sound Locations

Thanks for the info... Amazed that between a hurricane(missed OBX), earthquake(not horribly far away), and pandemic that were still going on this trip. I'm going to keep my eye on the forecast. More than likely I'll bring my gear, but the forecast right now is letting up on Friday/Saturday. I don't ...

Corolla, NC Sound Locations

I'm traveling to Corolla next week for a quick getaway with some friends and it looks like as of now there will be some wind. I'm the only kiter going so and didn't plan on bringing my gear unless the forecast looks good. I looked through spots and searched and there isn't a whole lot of information...

Re: NKB/Duotone trust bar front line lengths

Little over a year ago I asked the guys at wetestkites where the split was on the 24m bar and they had it at 18m from the kite. I asked because I bought the adjustable y they are using on Duotones new bars and put it on my LF bar/lines. Works great and I have played around a little bit with the loca...

Re: Time to book flights?

I've been flying on and off since June for work and the prices have been all over the place like the OP mentioned. Detroit to Denver as high as $950 and as low as $350... Typically they are $400 give or take $50. Delta has a cancellation policy, but I don't believe you get your money back you just g...

Re: Sunglasses & Kite - what to use?

I would also look at a pair of spoggles. They are generally used in factory / plant work as safety glasses that are splash resistant as well so they help keep water from splashing in. They are inexpensive and you can get polarized ones as well. Another option are safety glasses that are polarized. T...
