Re: Ecological disaster in kite paradise

I foiled that bay 3 years ago. Clearest water I've ever seen, beautiful coral just below the surface. So sad. Can't believe they didn't empty the ship while there was still time - they had more than 10 days before it started leaking. Incompetent governments just like the rest of the world. Also, how...

Re: Time to book flights?

Whatever you book I would definitely get cancellation options... Thats for sure. But by next year we should see many vaccinations worldwide, so risk will get limited. Be sure to see if your insurance will cover you if you get infected...that is currently a big problem of you travel to a risky regio...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

It seems people have run out of superlatives to describe how amazing the Peak4 kite is. Here is my review: I am an avid foiler (have been foiling for 5 years), and primarily use Drifters. I was looking to buy a kite that would cover my low-end (9-14kts). I first bought a 8m Peak4. I did one session...

Re: Lightwind Kiting Options

I agree with the rest that hydrofoiling is the way to go for those winds. That being said, since you haven't kited in years, be prepared to invest time and effort in learning how to foil asap. There is no point in buying a foil and then going out to try it once in a while, with weeks in between sess...

Re: What's your favorite wind range?

These are the magic days for me. 25-35 knots. They have been some of the best days I have had on this planet. As well as strong wind I also want cross on to cross off and the sea condition to be blazing 3-5m swell. That is where the holy grail of kitesurfing is for me. Epic days indeed, that really...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I think only few people made the bold claim that the 5 works in 9-10kts. And if it does, it is quite tedious (for me, 9-10 is still low end for the 8m). The bottom of wind range is dictated by how/if you can get your ass on the board after a couple of loops. And on the Peak, that takes a fair bit o...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Tried my 5m Peak4 today on 23m lines, first time flying it. No previous experience on foilkites. Was around 9-10 knots, big surf wing. Couldnt get up on the foil with it. Switched to my LEI 9m ultra and got up and foiling in a few swoops. Had to work the kite to keep going and toeside was barely pos...
