Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I think only few people made the bold claim that the 5 works in 9-10kts. And if it does, it is quite tedious (for me, 9-10 is still low end for the 8m). The bottom of wind range is dictated by how/if you can get your ass on the board after a couple of loops. And on the Peak, that takes a fair bit o...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Tried my 5m Peak4 today on 23m lines, first time flying it. No previous experience on foilkites. Was around 9-10 knots, big surf wing. Couldnt get up on the foil with it. Switched to my LEI 9m ultra and got up and foiling in a few swoops. Had to work the kite to keep going and toeside was barely pos...

Re: Best all round kite quiver for foil & freeride TT

Thanks for that, seems like going for the pivot in the smaller sizes (9 & 7) would work well for higher wind foiling and some solid TT riding. Looking at the 12m though it comes down to the pros and cons of a boxer over a pivot... Boxer would get me going in much less wind and be more foil friendly...

Re: Do Peak4 kites work with waveboards?

No idea if peaks work with a surfboard but I do know that knowing you can’t relaunch means you ride a peak differently than an LEI. That’s not actually a draw back. You don’t need to fly it as much so are less aggressive with the kite independent of how hard your riding. It sits at the top and just...

Re: Best all round kite quiver for foil & freeride TT

Depends when you want to start on your TT, and what kind of foil you have. For the lighter winds you will definitely want a one-strut. If you have a big frontwing with a lot of lift I'd go for a 10m or 11m Boxer, and then a 9 + 7 pivot. More or less you then could in 8 - 15 knots: foil on the boxer ...

So if I understand correctly from this thread, Peaks can be flown with any type of 4 line bar?

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

Time to stirr this shitshow again but I can't resist lol :D . New study from Brown University analyses millions of tweets and their findings supports my claim that climate change denial messages are organized by someone with an agenda, that has put in place a system to heavily produce and spread mis...

Re: Aluula ? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

So if I’m reading this correct, I could get a kite that will fly in really light winds but still no more powerful in comparison to a kite of similar size so I couldn’t actually get out on my twin tip and use it? Can see the buzz from foiling and if you love big kites but otherwise why would you pay...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

Just as Al Gore and scientists predicted years ago btw. I mean aren't there some countries that are supposed to be underwater. Weren't some countries supposed to turn into inhospitable deserts, when they were lush farmland before? Jup, there were some exaggerations in Al Gore's movie. However, the ...

Re: climate change / unpredictable weather/wind

Future risks posed by wildfires may be significantly reduced by limiting temperature increase to well below 2°C. This is an absolutely absurd statement. It suggests that a mere 2C change in temperature is the cause of any and all risk associated to wild fires. As if wild fires never happened or pos...
