Re: Martinique

Thank you both VERY much for the information.
I agree that Brazil has better winds but I am married to a lovely woman who does not kite but supports me kiting. I need to find a place where she feels safe and has things to do.

Martinique

Does anyone have any recent information on kiting in Martinique? If Windfinder is to be believed it should be close to Nirvana (the state of being not the group). Pointe Faula is reputed to be best spot but I am wondering if the Sorgassum problem has rendered it nasty stinky. Any tips on places to s...

Re: old fart round the world tour

Thanks Picolo. Cape Town looks like a good bet although I was surprised at water temperature. It is definitely wet suite kiting. JustaGirl. I am not sure what to make of your post. If I have insulted you I am very sorry as that was never my intention. While I don't think it is possible to have enoug...

Re: old fart round the world tour

Thanks Hugh2 and Fritz&Ivan. The link is really helpful. That is well within my budget. I am hoping to keep my costs in the range of $120 a day (100 euro) excluding airfare. I know some places that won't be possible but hopeful those will be made up for by others that are. Greenturtle thanks for the...

Re: old fart round the world tour

Greenturtle: windfinder shows no info for Abaco. Spanish Wells is the closest I can find with data. It suggests winter is about 25% chance of wind with March the best month at around 34%. Do you have local information to suggest otherwise. I don't really trust the windfinder. There are just far too ...

Re: old fart round the world tour

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and encouragement. Eduardo: I know SPI relatively well. I spent years perfecting how not to learn. Finally went to SPI and just threw money at the problem. As you say, great place to improve. I had been planning on being there now but life got in the way. I will be i...

Re: old fart round the world tour

thanks everyone for the suggestions so far pls keep 'em coming. The trick with this little project is going to be planning out a route that will continue in one direction and hit these very cool spots at the optimum time of year. I am currently putting together a spread sheet based on a list started...

old fart round the world tour

Hello, Has anyone done or at least planned out a round the world kiting tour? Having arrived at retirement age only moderately broken I am considering a kiting tour. Currently I am not that great a kiter (advanced beginner / low intermediate) I can go upwind but no tricks but I assume I will get bet...
