Re: What do you think about a plywood surfboard?

Plywood works fine but the downside, which has already been stated, is that it's heavy. It all depends on what your objective is. Marine Ply is perfect for making a 'Kite specific Alaia' as shown above the finished weight comes in around 8kgs but you don't feel the weight once you're on the water. T...

Re: Building a Kite Alaia

Hi, this is Chris Middleton from Wooden-Stuff - I can help you with building a Kilaia for sure. The name is different simply because when I've been over to Maui the local kiters there strongly advised me to drop the TIKI name due to the simple fact that it could offend people who worship the TIKI go...

Re: Foilboard (Pocket/Strapless) Paulownia

Hi Guys - Chris Middleton here from wooden-stuff.com - the guy in the images above making the hollow Foilaia. I can happily share with you my two cents on forming a nose rocker and riding flat foil pocket boards. Riding a flat board is do-able but it's a long way from being ideal in my opinion - onc...

Re: Learn to Foil with the Cabrinha Double Agent

Here in the South of France the Printemps de Foils has just taken place (Spring Foiling Test WE). The latest Cabrinha Foil was up for testing and I have to say that it's really shocking what an international company can come up like NP! The design, weight and just the general appearance of the foil ...

Re: Hydrofoil quiver?

I think it's pretty important to have a selection of foil wings - different wings suit different styles as several posts mention. I also ride Ketos foils and they have a good selection of standard wings that all work really well in various wind and sea states. For just cruising around I use the easy...

Re: entry level flight options

The Zeeko Alu foil is excellent. I rode it a couple of weeks ago and it performs, it's easy to use and will suit 90% of global kite foilers - I kid you not. The only slight downside is that it weighs more than a carbon foil - 900gms I think..... So not that much of an inconvenience. If the info I've...

Re: 3 most important things?

Hi Guys, I'm based in the Montpellier, South of France and I've been foiling since 2008. The foil buzz is definitely here this year and here's a few pointers that I've taken for granted for quite a while now. If you're new to foiling you need to really take stock of a few important things some of wh...

Re: kite board hydrofoils available

Just a quick heads up on the Sencillo foil - a simple concept that we've been working on for a few years (since 2010). Easy learning via a rock solid fuselage and vert leg with interchangeable wings once your ready to up the anti or just go a bit quicker ;-) www.fastafoil.com www.facebook.com/fastaf...
