Re: Litewave Wing

Okay, I'm feeling a little guilty about my earlier remark. Guess I was curt. Maybe even rude. :-? My apologies. My experience with light wind boards is that anything over 140-148 cm is just too bulky and heavy to be fun. There are some good light wind boards in the 140-150 cm range that make up for ...

What happens with this board in higher wind?
How does a lightwind board act in higher wind and chop?
Like a sheet of plywood.

Re: Drone foiling?

Point taken, deniska. But I'm still not convinced that a drone capable of pulling a foil needs to cost more than an efoil. My cost comparison comment responded to this one from "tk": I see zero reason to do this over buying an efoil. A second reason to drone-foil as shown in the second video could b...

Re: Drone foiling?

Lift eFoil - $12,000 USD Found it. The video description says it's a Freestyle Systems Alta 8, here's their web store. It's $17,495. https://store.freeflysystems.com/products/freefly-alta8?variant=18143711559 So $12,000 is sounding pretty affordable in comparison. I'm not a drone expert, but here's...

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

We used to ride in Pea Island all the time (Rodanthe to New Inlet downwinders), but then the no-kiting restriction was put into place. That part of the island is definitely off limits now. Was it Dimitri who ended with the kite in power lines and restriction followed? I don't think so, but I'm not ...

Re: Hatteras to get another new bridge ... this one sucks.

OMG ....Im sooo scared of the rangers!!! help help!!! Interesting, self-focused reaction. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're joking. What we all should be "scared of", or at least cognizant of, is potential loss of access to other kiting locations along the island. If kit...

Re: Serious accident at Mirlo Beach yesterday

I heard an unofficial report that EMT's were called to assist a kiteboarder with a broken jaw on Hatteras Island, but I understood it was yesterday (Sunday) not Saturday. I suppose it could have been the same incident. No other details.

Re: Funny crash

I guess it's funny to the guy holding the camera. But probably not so funny to the kiter. I guess I never really appreciated fall-on-your-face slapstick humor. To each his own.
