Re: Hydrofoil Big Air

When we're talking about those big jumps, how many do you land properly? I see on the video he doesn't exactly ride away smoothly from many of the jumps. Can anyone land smoothly, or it is simply too dangerous to try to land 'hot' like you would with a twin-tip. I would rather not imagine the carna...

Re: Hydrofoil Big Air

Recently at Martha's Vineyard Cup Nico Parlier won the Big Air contest on his Mike's Lab foil and board / Ozone R1 V2 11m on 15m lines.

He scored 59.7 feet = 18,1 meters in 18-20 knots of wind.

Enough said.

Re: Fastest production hydrofoils

Yes, Banga is really fast, stiff and very user friendly, even for most weekend warriors. Maxime Nocher, Axel Mazella and Elena Kalinina chose Banga simply because it is the fastest foil, faster than the ones from the brands that sponsor them. And they want to WIN. p.s. Julien Kerneur has both Mike's...

Re: Cabrinha Apollo

Marek, have you tried the Apollo on short lines (15-18m) ?

Latest foil kites work best on short lines. Does the Apollo follow this trend?

Thanks

Re: Fastest production hydrofoils

Banga foils are available and really worth a try.

They are beautiful, really strong and very very fast.

One of the very fastest, if not the fastest of them all.

Re: Cabrinha Apollo

I think the Apollo is a new car from VW? If I had flown such a thing as unlikely as that might be, I might have been totally blown away. For now though, like Sargent Schultz, "I know nothing!" Time will tell. LOL! Rick, you may want to let us know why, in the unlikely event of have dreamt of having...

Re: winglets

Front wing winglets' mission is reducing induced drag vortexes at the tips and "redirecting" span wise drag.

Also, they promote better control and stability at high angles of attack.

And when tips travel close to the surface, winglets limit caviation noticeably.
