Re: Snapped a Chicken Loop!

I'm guessing the inner rope snapped due to abrasion with the kinked PU tube where it bends around the harness hook. If you don't unhook then I can recommend the duotone wave CL. It has a metal protector which holds the shape and I think may prevent this kind of thing. not sure what happens if metal...

Re: sanding mast & foils - which grit to use

LE > TE Submerged surfaces 2000 - 1200 - 800 Breaching surfaces 800 -1200 - 2000 (top mast, wingtips) all cross sanded 45deg and use a spraypaint base coat before sanding to fill any imperfections. Big plans for trying to reach cavitation speeds of 55kn+ ( or did you mean ventilation?) Can you expl...

Re: Impact Vest With Decent Flotation

The Forward WIP vest appears to be the only one with a defined amount of flotation as well as impact protection. The Ride Engine one claims to have flotation but then doesn't say how much. It looks more suited to kitesurfing though. Anyone tried both?? I've tried both. Prefer the Forward WIP cos of...

Re: Current Thoughts on Waxing Kite Lines?

Regular candle wax? Applied cold? Surf Wax? Bow wax? Fancy new product? Wax that stays sticky is bad. Waxes that are hard at operating temp are better because they wont "pick up" sand on thier own. But in certain conditions, sand can still be physically pushed into, and embedded in harder wax. I sw...
