Re: Diversity in the Kiteboarding community

If you want a genuine answer, start by getting everyone into swimming at a young age. Without a swimming culture you aren't going to persuade people to partake in watersports as you need to feel comfortable in the water.

Re: Solo hot launching a tube kite

Reverse launch instead using the steering lines? Drift launch into the water (works well if you don't have any shoredump)?

Two solutions I'd probably investigate before attempting a hot launch

Re: Nexus 2 seems to be doing everything it says on the tin

Difficult to get a demo on anything in dorset especially core at least for long enough to take it somewhere decent to try it anyway. I just had to buy an xr6 in order to try it. Think the nexus2 would be more my type of kite to be fair. Xr6 is a little slow and possibly a bit boring but I have only...

Re: Is this the most high tech foil?

Try surf foiling. Then ask why.

Way harder without the kite to help you stabilise

Please, he didn’t allege or even imply impropriety. He said things will change. In the future. I’m curious, who’s paying you to be so irrational and oblivious or are you doing this on your own with no help? Or is English your 4th language? Never mind. No he said taxes will get you soon End of the y...

Re: Nexus 2 seems to be doing everything it says on the tin

I think someone in another thread about 6 months ago explained the bar thing. Each manufacturer has different spec for the lines and they have 'slightly' different stretch characteristics. The kites are tuned based on this characteristic so if you fly a kite tuned to stiff lines on a stretchy lined ...

Re: dry suit maintenance

Modern drysuits seem to be pretty tough. I'm one of those people who doesn't wrap my drysuit in cotton wool. It gets 2 washes a year. If the shower at the beach is functioning (which it regularly isn't) I'll do 20 seconds of rinse off whilst I rinse my bar. Suit is still going strong 5 years later (...

Re: Surfr. New kitesurf jump app?

Looks really good. I dare say you might be able to sell the mount to non kitesports if you designed it well. E.g. I bet motorcyclists might like a really good waterproof casing if it worked with a handlebar mount. Might help to keep the price steady (and give you guys a steady income?) if you are ab...

Re: Gluing back valves on the inside of the bladder

The other way is to cut them off. Then when replacing use a large square of tear aid on the inside and a replacement valve on the outside. I had to do this with the new modern seam sealed style of valves that don't peel off. The trick is to wet the tear aid and inside of the bladder whilst manoeuvri...

Re: Flat water family spot (Greece, Cyprus)

I have been to Lefkada. I totally lucked out and had about 1/2 afternoon of wind of about 14 knots and mostly less than 11 knots during my week. There are 2 flat water spots but neither work as reliably as the main beach. AlwaysWindy - the kite school have a detailed set of maps to show where the sp...
