Re: Windsurfing legend lists expansive Hawaii estate for $18M

This is why kit is so expensive. Wind sports attract millionaires. so because he has a nice house you write him off as the problem.. his parents were not millionaires he worked, competed, won multiple titles and then put it all into his own company, no bank loans no investment partnerships, his cas...

Re: Tether Launch - strong wind

Nice vid RedSky. Either your kites happen to sit on a tip better than mine or I am talking more powered conditions. Really this is mostly about what I would describe as overpowered on small kites for a TT @ ~ 100kg. With power I am happy to buggy with you don’t get a lot of bounce. Green turtle, in...

The tether itself is a hefty sand_screw that incorporates a 5" strap with a cabarina on the end. Then I run the lines downwind. Once the lines are attached I unhook the kite from the...

Re: How long is your drive to the Kiting Spot, how long is your Session, how exhausted are you after the session

1.5 hours to spot 1-3 hours buggy 1-7 days recovery I work evenings, so if i'm planning a session then i probably get little or no sleep the night before as i get home from work around midnight, do checklist into early hours. If it is winter in the UK then daylight is short, so if lucky only one tid...

Re: Bladders in foils

I proposed the idea of an inflatable LE for paraglider foils on some forum many years ago after watching one too many near death wing collapse videos. Although I suspect that subsequent improvements in design of such a wing might ultimately end up looking exactly like a tube kite.

Re: What an absolute dick!

You did not forget to pack your kites. You decided at the last minute to dedicate more time to your wife and kids. Stick to the story. Next time have a checklist as I do. Been in your situation too many times. Forgot harness, forgot pump and even left kite on beach and drove home without it, never t...
