Re: Found my relic Flexifoil Blade II 6.4m in the attic-looking for flying advice

Perfect kite for scudding in lighter wind. I see no reason why it shouldn't fly unless the mice have been at it. I had them all, from 2m to 10.5m. I still have the 4.9 ( The widow maker ) 6.4 ( old blue eyes ) and my pride and joy 7.2m ( K48 Chris Calthrop RIP ) Obviously they don't get used these d...

Re: Hydra genetrix v7 9m bar setup

I have the Hydra v7 7m & 8m. There was someone selling brand new Genetrix kites including hydra and bars back in March. Not sure if he had any takers. I can help you out with your measurements if you prefer. Jump to page 2 and second post by Jeremy_bo https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=240202...

Re: Solo hot launching a tube kite

Keep in mind that foil kites have an intricate bridle set that may snag in the undergrowth unless you use a tarp or something.

Mid 20s.
Any higher and you can't safely downloop the kite for powerslides in the buggy. :D

Re: Solo hot launching a tube kite

Great location though. The trouble with my video of course is that it only works on ideal surfaces. I can see your problem. How about if you lay your kite on its back, TE into the wind, BUT place the kite behind a netted windbreak. When you're ready to launch, just pull on the front lines to raise i...

Re: You should release when...

I shouldn't laugh. In my day we called this man-lifting, albeit with a rope. Holding onto the harness is like pulling back on a bow, you load up tension, then you let go and watch them fly! :D
