Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

My point of view. The biggest influence in light winds or even drift is just low body weight + good kite There are two main factors that influence drift: -Kite weight (that is why foilkites might be superior here...) -Kite balance (no front or back stall even with lines slack) Yes, plus : - kite dr...

Re: smooth landing with hydrofoil.

Nice video and topic. I start jumping for 2 sessions now , just to clarifiy that i am not an expert at all and as you are. I made some landings whithout touching the water with the board, and i must say the big big 1200 cm2 wing has certainly help. I would just add on personnal comment if you feel y...

Re: High wind hydrofoiling

In high wind i used Lei (rally 4m) and foilkites (CA pulsion 3.7m and FS viron 4m). My prefered on was CA pulsion, up to 40 knots (i am 60 kg). I think the CA wave is even better in gusts and mofe smooth when crossing the wind window. About hydro foil choice , i love slow wings like keto 1200 , whic...

Re: Downwind Faster Than The Wind - update

Love this faster than wind thing and thinking about the math for a long time. I have not followed these 30 pages so maybe it has already been discussed : To me the rotating wing is neither a propulsor nor a generator. It is "in between" actually, working as a spinacker sail pushed by the wind . Its ...

Re: Concept'air Pulsion 15m

I made a high wind session on monday with the pulsion 15m and very large foil 1200 cm2 ; interesting because I was in my light wind configuration , i.e. quite high camber + 28m lines ; wind was not steady and off-shore then side-off ; I had not my 12m with me so I used the 15m; At the end the wind w...

Re: How important is the weight of your bar and lines for light wind foiling?

It is true that parts close to the rider have less impact when kite is low, hence the fact that trim is less important than lines. For the bar itself I disagree when you keep one hand on it since it is "rigidely linked to you ", so you can hold its "overweight" with your hand so that it does not pul...

Re: How important is the weight of your bar and lines for light wind foiling?

Thin lines (at rear lines at least ) helps to reduce the bending of the lines when fully depowered. When wind is really low (say below 5-6), smaller diameter leads to less curvature and less "permanent" pull-in on the kite. It allows to have it fly toward zenith with less need to grab and pump the f...
