Re: Concept'air Pulsion 12"S"

Don't forget with reduced drag the kite should also be able to actively fly in less wind too. With regard to reduced AoA because of less weight, the bar has this effect too. Or more it's because a rider won't be actively pushing the bar out all the time. If you haven't tried an ultra light bar I re...

Re: Concept'air Pulsion 12"S"

yes the AR is higher, it is quite obvisous when you see them in real ( visually and on the behavior); wind range is slided toward higher winds. Turning is improved with tension , radius can be shorter (with inner wing backstalling like for race kites), but radius in larger when less tension (wrt Sta...

Re: Concept'air Pulsion 12"S"

For a light kite like foilkite yes, and the lighter, the more "significant" thiner lines are. They count almost like an equivalent weight saving on the kite, i.e. 200 gr possible saving. More over thin rear lines allow a bit more more decrease of AoA angle in the hard lulls to keep the kite at the z...

Re: Concept'air Pulsion 12"S"

low wind : the longuer the best ( if you are looking for early planning and easy ride) ; if you are looking for speed, or upwind , the shorter the best ; for marginal wind, I use 30m (pulsion 15 or 18m) ; on this Pulsion 12S (which I do not configure for marginal wind but rather wind range, speed, a...

Concept'air Pulsion 12"S"

Benoit Tremblay has launched last year a "Sport" evolution of the its Free-reice kite Pulsion standard ; a bit higher aspect ratio, in between soul and Navy 2 IMO. A bit more expensive as well. I have exchanged my loved Pulsion standard to a 12S to feed my curiosity ; now I did 3n or 4 rides, includ...

Re: what is this thing? line separator?

It is a "kite cleat" , main function is a line manager to ease the reconnection of the lines to the kite , avoiding the untangling of the bar. You can find it in many in-line shops, or ebay. You can add a small tube to derive its use to help lauchning from a boat. One version has an integrated line ...

Re: Ultralight vs standard foil kite degradation

Ultralight fabric has clear performance benefits over standard fabric, but I expect the benefits are less noticeable in stronger winds. It would be interesting to hear opinions on what size foil kites they would choose ultralight fabric over standard fabric considering the faster wear expected for ...

Re: We filmed a kite beach for 8 hours ... crashes

One interesting thing at 0:56. The guy seem to land the kite on purpose, by fronstalling it in the air on purpose. Do you analyse this like me ? We see the kite being "shaked" in its fly , certainly by pulling on the right front line by the pilot. I do this to land alone but first I lay the kite on ...

Nice pictures ... ok, I do not have that skills at all, so sorry for this poor video in comparison just below; but I found the condition of access to the water quite interesting ... :worry:

Re: Connections O-Rings

I looked all around the web to find some rings similar to FS ones ... the closest one are indeed these one on Aliexpress or in-line fishing shops ; But you can buy some directly to Flysurfer , since they are definitely less agressive with a perfect round section ; not visible on FS site but you can ...
