Re: Low wind body dragging

My technic in ultimate light wind, lei or foilkite is to just simply swim directly up wind ! With a bit of energy it also helps to keep the kite in the air . So , kite at zenith and you swim facing the wind... Frustrating becuse the kite does not help to anything but efficient. Depending on your kit...

Re: the Hawk from Pansh

Picture of this little rope : IMG_20220811_092704.jpg A more nice way to do it is to simply insert a stopper (like a pearl with a hole in the center) along the sliding rope that goes through this pulley, between the pulley and the C bridle side ; if the stoper is close to C bridle connection, mixer ...

Re: the Hawk from Pansh

Indeed, not hard work. Just add a line between the Z and the yz1. If line is short (15cm in my memory), mixer is locked like standard.
If line is longer (say 40 cm to be confirmed), it is 50% original 50% pulley.
If line is very long, 100 % pulley

Re: the Hawk from Pansh

Fully agree. I tested it with a normal mixer. By just adding a small line in the mixer that engages the pulley later on. I can set it easily to swap from : (A)-original mixer (B)- or standard mixer (C)- or amix of the two= original mixer on 50 % f bar stroke and standard mixer on remaining 50% bar s...

Re: Advice for boosting on a foil?

make it very progressive, low height to learn, in very light wind, say 50 cm then 1 meter, and do a lot of jumps at 1m, 1.5 m , when you minimise your landing speed and your spin, just the time to master your body management and landing method ; start with the biggest kite you have to get more lifti...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

You are right also, and drifting capacity is a pluri-design parameter. We can also add the inertia of the kite (meaning weight in the air + weight of air traped in the kite like closed cells or inflated parts) . The smaller, the easier the kite will start going downwind to follow the rider. But over...

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

I could get a second hand roam 12m at "acceptabe price"
Your opinion , for sweet spot of 7-13 knots on hydrofoil and 11-17 knot on twintype compared to flite 12m ? (no second hand at acceptable price for the flite today)

Re: Aluula Kites - for those of you who already have some hands-on experience

I want one :-). Thanks a lot. I am afraid of being frustrated by lack of lift, so probably flite is better for me. 12m or 14m depending of second hand market proposals :-). Moreover i like the "challenge" to move a kite which is not designed for... so i like looping my 10m flite already. I would lov...
