Re: Perfect Pitch ... WTF

Hi, It's 20mm square 6061 T5. My first fuselage was 1" square but it felt like overkill. I just wanted try smaller for the sake of weight and although I was hoping to get T6 temper my local supplier didn't have and could track any down. The risk was it may bend but after a lot of use and few big hi...

Re: Who wants to test my ride?

Finally I made it. I could fly with the 60 cm mast and now I changed to the 90 cm. I also made a longer fuselage. 90 cm length overall. The only change was to give more front foot pressure while starting. Next step is learning to gibe. I feel like I have too much back leg pressure and probably shoul...

Re: Who wants to test my ride?

Back home in Switzerland :). I am now confident enough to take the foil onto lake of Zürich. Still a Little cold  water temp around 11°C and air temp. 8°C. The entrance into the lake is not so easy but one of the best spots in my area. I used the first time my "chinese go-pro copy" and mounted ...

Re: Who wants to test my ride?

The two layers of 160 gr each side is just limit. I already have a small dent from transport due to the zipper. But indeed I wanted it to be light weighted :) It is the first build which I had to shape the EPS. The others where just TT which I have built as a Sandwich in one shot. The shape of the b...

Re: Who wants to test my ride?

Thanks downunder, the milling machine is really fun. To your questions: Picture #4 (front wing 3 layer wood 3 mm glued together with epoxy and thin fiberglass). Here I used a vacuum bag to glue together the 3 layer of wood and to get the anhedral of the front wing. Picture #6 is in fact the same pro...

Re: Who wants to test my ride?

Here are some news of my very slow progress. It seems that I struggle much more than others to learn foiling. I was only on TT before. So I decided to modify my foil to have it as beginner friendly as possible. I cutted my home made mast 1/3 - 2/3. So I started with the very short Mast of 30 cm and ...

Re: Alu DIY

Did you make the board plate yourself? Could you share any details of the making? JMBalubase.jpg Also do you know any retailers based in Europe selling struts? Thanks. Board plate is 8mm thick to allow for M8 counter sink holes to be flush. I only know of Zeeko and The kitefoil, Manta for Al...

Re: Zeeko revolutionise the hydrofoil for 2015

Dear Nicolas
I am curious about the top plate mounting of the Aluminium Version.
Is the plate welded on or just flat bolted to the plate with two screws (M8)? A close up picture would be great.
And will the hollow mast be filled with water while riding?

Thanks
Roger
