I am pretty sure that these hand held wings are intended for SUP boards only. I do not think that it is even possible to handle a low volume foil board and the Wind-Surfer simultaneously in order to water start, especially in sufficient wind. I am buying car bumper protection film (designed to protect from stone chips and scratches), 60 cm wide, cut to the desired length in the shop. It is much cheaper than the offered tapes (same material) and it is easier to be cut to the desired width (2-3 cm for thin foil boards or 5-6 cm for thicker...

I use clear polyurethane tape. Holds great for more than 2 years and does great job in protecting my rails.
