Re: Gear advice for very light winds (around 7-10 knots)

There are a more than a few good light wind SLE kites in the 17m range that you can use from ~8mph-20mph such as the Blade Fat Lady, Ocean Rodeo Flite and some others. Then there are foil kites as well to choose from for light winds. Couple that with a longer TT Board thats 45cmx148cm or longer or a...

Re: Convert North 5 to 4 line

you can also take off one of the front lines and use the 5th line as a front line. if you release the chicken loop, kite will flag out completely on one frontline, which is also a safety line... i used this when one of my friends forgot his RRD bar at home and I had 2 5-line north bars with me... w...

Re: Kite Bars with other brand kites

What kite will you fly on your North bar? You will get good help if your question is a bit more specific. I am begining to see that there are a few variables I did not think of like the split height. As far as being more specific, I am thinking about an OR Flite or other light wind kite. I think I ...

Kite Bars with other brand kites

Can you use different brand bars with various kites? I have a pair of nice North Trust Bars but I'd like to try other brand kites and save the expense of more bars. I understand that each kite will probably have different line lengths but I was thinking that I could made a set of extension lines for...

Re: Just bought my first set up...

You should let us know where you will be kiting so someone can offer a few lessons to get you started on the right foot, and to save the site from banning kiters, as hurting other people is the fastest way to lose a kiting site. You should take lessons, and if you can't afford them then you need to ...

Re: Stabcam electronic gimball for gopro

Its weather and rain proof.

That does NOT mean it can be submerged and its an expensive device so its not suitable for Kitesurfing I'd say.

Re: Swimmer Rescue Aided By Kiters - Problems?

What a great idea. Some positive press would be a big plus to the public image as kitesurfing is still seen as a dangerous and reckless activity in some areas. I also think that on demand flotation as in some sort of emergency self inflating impact vest would be a great idea for both those situation...

Re: Kite Simulator - real progress possible?

Looks like its basically a game controller at this point, but I'll bet phase 2 of the development could add line feedback, pull etc and phase 3 could be to add the board. Seems like it would be cheaper and more effective to actually do some kiting on the beach. It may be a way to get people interest...
