Re: Surf cabin

Great topic since kite gear takes up a lot of space. I also think it’s important that the gear is easily accessible to allow a quick pack and go. I am just finishing my storage and have everything high up in the garage. My 4 boards sit on top of the concrete wall - there is a small ledge. Kites hang...

Re: Cabrinha Fireball vs slider rope

...The spreader bar had 1/8” holes at the upper edge so I drilled those out to 1/4” - this was the toughest part as the aluminum seemed very hard . Here is a pic! It's stainless steel, not aluminum  P.S. I like that setup a lot! LOL - That explains it! It looks like aluminum, but glad to know...

Re: Cabrinha Fireball vs slider rope

2021-07-07 13.51.38.jpg This setup allows me to use the fireball to connect directly to the ring without the need for the bottom metal part as previously posted. Thanks - I have also thought about not using the lower part - the fireball - and connecting the safety release to a ring as you show (but...

Re: St. Croix

Just stumbled across this topic and I'll add my experiences. I have been to St. Croix twice for kiting and it was great both times. I was there in March 2014 and February 2021. In 2014 I had my first lessons and learned to kite with Leading Edge Kite school. It was a great place to learn kiting, and...

Re: Cabrinha Fireball vs slider rope.

Hi, I am using a fireball bar with a modified lower section. Compact and efficient, I really like it. This is a great approach. I use a fireball and want to add a rope slider option for foiling, so I really appreciate your work. I may try to cut only the lower part of the black plastic to get acces...

Re: Splitboard twintip packing strategies?

I have made a 900g plywood frame as minimal edge protection and "stuffing helper". The bag is a 85 liter Ortlieb Duffle RS without wheels, this saves 1,2kg. Ion B2 harness, bar, neoprene and footpads go into the duffle, the big kite (in this case a soul 10m) goes into the kite-backpack (carry-on wh...

Re: Splitboard twintip packing strategies?

I use 2 large hard-shell roller suitcases. In one, I pack 3 kites (no bags) and the split board. In the second, I put a kite bag in each side and pack everything else I need inside those bags - harness, pump, foot straps/pads, bar, wetsuits, etc. There is extra room in the bag for all other things I...
