Re: Covid vaccine

Yes those are big questions, at what point should a country "help" or intervene in another country ? Quite relevant to me but I'm sure I'm no closer to an answer than you.. You live in Norway and you have 16 vaccinations ??!! I'm amazed, think I understand you a bit better now.. I only have yellow f...

Re: Covid vaccine

I expect the point of making it mandatory is the obvious one: to limit the spread. Why would a government allow an individual to put a whole country at risk while that individual has the possibility to not do that ? Why would it be bad if that country chooses to protect it's citizens against that r...

Re: Covid vaccine

Hasn't this issue (number of deaths) been debated extensively already (around March, April or so last year) ? Different countries counting in different ways etc ? Some countries counting excess deaths (comparing against average for same period maybe), others counting along the lines of "with (Covid...

Re: Covid vaccine

100% agree with Matteo V on those potential long game risks. Interesting how those kind of dilemmas seem to be completely forgotten in the "west" while you see it discussed a lot more in parts of Asia. Often among people connected to Hinduism or Buddhism. Would we even have been here if an earlier ...

Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

Just a thought it’s a water sport, ride on the f*****g water, look after your gear rather then up the beach and then wonder why your board designed for WATER use has broken because you ground it up the beach because you were too lazy/too rad to bother stopping or thought you would look cool, And no...

Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

So carbon is stiffer and lighter but that stiffness comes by sacrificing total breaking strength. There are certainly carbon boards with lots of flex. Are boards actually made like this though, with a carbon layer(s) over fiberglass ? From what I have seen you get to the wooden core very quickly but...

Re: Carbon vs Wood made boards

A youtuber said it so it must be true?. That is so much bollox I don't know where to start. Try this using the Tubers own description of Carbon not stretching beyond 1.04% was it? So tell me, when was the last time you saw a 1.3 mtr kite board stretch 4 cm? The argument seems reasonable. 1.04% of 1...

Re: crack in chicken loop -- problem?

I've had this a number of times with different bars. If the rope still looks Ok then I think there is no reason to assume it isn't, though I wouldn't just "ignore" it (keep on checking). Ducttape is probably a good idea. In my case the rest of the plastic always goes quite quickly once it starts. As...

Re: Double braid yes or no?

I can't really speak from experience but what you say makes sense. Also, once the outer layer is damaged a bit in a double braid, wear accelerates when it starts catches on things. Single braid less so I would think. On a boat, uninformed as I am, I like double braid because ropes get cooked in the ...
