Re: Off shore winds, yes or no?

In offshore winds, at least where I live, it's very gusty with lots of wind holes. You have to be prepared to kite in conditions that you may not be used to. Offshore wind is usually gusty wind kiting, and can be intimidating for someone who's used to smoother onshore winds. You should be adept at k...

Anyone ride an Apple tree Malus Domestica?

Especially interested in your opinion on waves and what fins you like? I'm looking for a new compromise board, as where I surf is a difficult up-wind open ocean tack to get to the waves (lava reef/bluffs so no launching at site). Standard surf shapes just make it too difficult. Looking for something...

Re: What are Ya doing, to stay Sane through this ?

I'm painting my house. Oh joy....Sad thing is that I usually have to quit by noon because the wind gets too strong. This is our windy season. Even though the beaches are closed, I live in a VERY rural area and could sneak to a spot and ride waves. Although I'm a competent kiter and haven't had an ac...

Re: Covid-19 - How does it affect your kite-life?

We just cancelled a kite trip to the Bahamas that was supposed to be in two weeks. :angryfire: I think things are blown out of proportion, but at the same time I don't want to get stuck somewhere, or in quarantine if someone on one of my flights gets diagnosed with the virus. Better to wait....I gue...

Re: Duotone pump compatibility

I just found a third WMFG Duotone adapter that for some reason fits the Duotone valve without leaking, but it's not what I would call a "good" fit. Three that leak, one that doesn't. Not good odds.

Duotone pump compatibility

I just switched my kite quiver to Duotone Neo's and I'd like to buy a Duotone pump (since it fits the kite valve much better than the WMFG adapters that leak)... but I do have one odd kite. My big kite is a new 2019 Flite. Does anyone know if the Duotone pump fits the ocean rodeo valve, or has an ad...

Re: Los Barriles

The amount of rocks on the shoreline varies. If there's a lot of rain in the summer monsoon season and the arroyos wash out, there will be good beaches, but as the months of the windy season progress, the sand is slowly eroded away. Sometimes there's a beach, sometimes it's rocky. More sand south en...

Re: Duotone Neo Line Length

Thanks for the info. I assumed a 12 would come with the larger 46/53 bar, but I received a 42/49. I found out that if you order lines 22m or shorter it comes with a 42/49 bar. If you order lines longer than 22m it comes with a 46/53 bar. You can't get a 45/53 bar with 22m lines or less. A little dis...

Duotone Neo Line Length

After mulling over several different Kites, I just bought a Duotone Neo 12. Duotone recommends the 22m lines for surfing, so that's what I bought. I'm used to 19m lines, but i can get used to the 22m lines. Question is: Anyone know if there Is there a reason they recommend 22m? Better drifting, hand...

Re: My new project : iGetwind.com

Just have to say that I rarely (if ever) use any of the other wind forecasts sites anymore. I love the format. Great job!
