Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Flyboys your experience sounds similar to mine in some ways. Since flying peaks I've had a line snap, a line extension splice give way, and a rope slider snap, all leading to swims. All firsts in 20 years of kiting. Definitely don't go 1km off shore unless you have the time and energy to get back in...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I have had about 8 swim ins since flying peaks. Most are from catching swell too far downwind in too light wind. I'm still learning that balance. However I've also had a line snap, a line extension set break, and a rope slider break... None of theses things ever happened before in 20 years so it's i...

Re: Kitefoil, double skin - single skin Peak/FireFly?

My friend is very experienced with souls. He is 20kgs lighter on a slightly smaller but still large surf Moses wing. We foil together a lot. This is what happens: Me 4m peak = him 6m soul 5m peak = 8m soul 6m peak = 12m soul 13m peak = 12m soul I have tried a few kites for the absolute low end. Clo...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I think with my 95kgs 8-9 knots is not easy. It is doable but really scraping the bottom end, so maybe a couple of loops one way, a couple the other, a couple of foil pumps, and with some luck you're up and away. Once moving it's all good. I would call 10-12 knots easy where it's scraping with the 5...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi guys I just wanted to back in Peter's observations with some further thoughts on the 6m. I had 2 sessions of about 3hrs total over the weekend. In short I agree with Peter's feelings - it's a thumbs up from me. Lovely kite to fly. It's not the eager puppy like the smaller sizes, but it is a great...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Ok quick and not so exciting review. Flew the 6m today in 5m weather. It did everything I hoped. It felt a little slower and gruntier than the 5m but much nicer than the 8m. Unfortunately the wind wasn't light enough to really test the low end. I had a good session in a challenging spot and came in ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Thanks guys great tips, exactly what I was looking for. I will try keeping the kite much higher in the window, and working some high figure 8s. I tend to be more slaloming than full S Turns & cutbacks. Also Peter when I say balling up I mean if you slack lines aggressively the kite will momentarily ...
