Re: Kite identification

Hey all....thanks for responding...I got my hands on it today...below are the pics....it is a 14m The guy that inherited it has sentimental value so he won't sell it for anything less than $500. This isn't anything someone would want for $500 is it? He's asking me to potentially teach him on it...lo...

Kite identification

Does anyone know what year and brand kite this is?

A coworker inherited it as new, but knows it is somewhat old and wants to sell it. I explained it could be a risky kite and should only be sold(even if at all) to someone with experience.

Thanks for having a look.

Tacking issues 15m inflatable vs 12m

Happy new year everyone! I'm tacking every time on my 12m inflatable, and roughly 75% are airborne.....and now let's discuss the 15m in light wind bc it's a disaster... I'm only taking the 15m out when the whitecaps are barely visible...10-12mph here. So yesterday it is a terrifying 11mph. Everyone ...

Re: Kitesurfer dies after slamming into wall of home in Fort Lauderdale

Sad to hear about this. Ive been hit with a squal coming quicker than expected as many of us in FL have. The only diff is we are typically already in the water. For newer riders, if somehow you encounter this do not let your kite get above 30deg. Once it starts creeping upwards you lose weight lever...

Above the bar swivel replacement

[disclaimer] I don't recommend any modifications to your bar I have done for anyone, let alone beginners. I just prefer making my own lines and ended up with a few other mods. My final Liquid Force above the bar swivel broke when I was facing backwards just after boosting a big frontoll in 18mph on ...

Re: unwanted rotation in jump

I cannot comment if you are using a fixed harness hook. I've been using a sliding rope spreader bar for over 4 years and if I wait too long on loading up the lines to boost the kite is further behind me and the rings on my spreader bar are pulling me up away from my center of gravity and it puts me ...

Re: Finally tacking beyond stoked!

Flag, My 2 largest hurdles were simply not carving far enough around into the new angle and not matching my board motion with the kite motion. For the first item, as you carve you are creating a radius and I was not allowing myself to let the radius continue on long enough to get at least close to t...

Re: mystic rope slider how to have a backup rope?

papa, You can try 7/64" dyneema for your backup. It is just under 3mm diam so you may be able to slot it thru the existing hole. I use them for steering line pigtails. They are 1400 pound strength so in case your 3/16" main line breaks you don't have to worry at all. Just make sure you tie a large k...

Re: Finally tacking beyond stoked!

These took forever and I still don't nail them all the time. It gets tiring practicing them day after day after day, though. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKNOnoBjiZw/ I'm trying to learn tacks to toeside on the wingfoil now. It's pretty similar, but the hand work is way different. I can only do it i...
