Re: Very Strong Winds

I have had a few 40 knot sessions and I have just learned to assume the board is now a more lethal weapon because the wind will now lift it completely out of the water (or land) when there is no weight on it. I try and fall upwind of the board or, if downwind of the baord, stay down in the water to ...

Re: Need winging advise

Yes, having the foil forward in the box might make it easier to get up foiling indeed (but one could also claim, if not centered, the trim of the foil is not "perfect") But his only question was how to avoid going upwind when trying to get up, and here it will get even worse if you move the mast fo...

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

2018: kited (foil/tt) roughly 4000 km
2019: kited (foil/tt) roughly 2000 km, winged 1500 km
2020: kited (foil) roughly 200 km, winged 1500km

I really only kite now below 12 knots. I find it more restrictive compared to winging. I still love them both, but winging is winning in this 12 month period.

Re: 6 and 4 m2 ?

What is the practical minimum rider height for a 6m F-One Swing? I would imagine that too short means the wingtips drag on the water surface too easily I found that I adjusted the wing angle and my arm position based on the size of the different wings when pumping onto the foil. Once up it became a...

Re: Who are the Wing foilers ?

OK. So it's starting to get a little confusing. Big promotion of Peak4s because they allow the ultimate in light wind float/drifting/depowered wave riding. However, are those advantages now being upstaged by the potential of winging? I think kites and wings overlap in their function. A kite will de...

Re: Moses seem to be a bit slow for competitive Windwing foils

For me there is a big gap in suitable Moses surf foils for Windwing and SUP foiling. Unless I am missing something the 790 to 1100/873 is way too big a gap. At 76kg I need about an 1800sq cm similar to the 1100 but thinner. The 873 only has a very limited window of fun compared to the 1100. The 790...

Re: Lightwind gybing

I find it easier to downloop the kite like everyone else is saying. But since your moving the kite overhead are you carving hard upwind before initiating the downwind turn of the board? This is important to place kite deeper in the wind window so it does not stall out by slacking out mid jibe. I do...

Re: A New Era in Watersports: Introducing the Global Wingsports Association (GWA)

I wonder if that first race that Robbie, Alex, Sky and friends had has now been marked down as a 2019 World Championship Event.
