Re: Show me new mutants or the latest "directional optimised TTs"

Based on the shape of your old mutant, the Nomad Wave should be something you have a look at.

Re: What's the thing with Duotone?

I wanted to do some boosting (and having watched Toby's stream of flight) and bought one 13m Rebel with 24m lines. It was a really awesome revelation how well these things fly and handle.

Since then I bought a few more with 27m lines. Wind blows .... BOOST!!!!

15 knots is hardly light wind!
True enough .... I ride a foil board below that as the fun factor is still high. My Cloud kite works fine in 8 knots.

Re: Light wind inflatable kite

I have started riding a Duotone Rebel 15m/27m lines .... I have no troubles getting to 7m in 15knots with 5 second glide time.

Re: Light wind inflatable kite

Thank you everyone for your comments and replies! I really appreciate your help and imput since I am doing my research for a couple months already. To me flying high in the air is the true kiteboarding so instead of going after foil and wide door style boar I will go with 15 m kite. After I will be...

Re: Light wind inflatable kite

Based on the wind and level of fun (and addiction to kiting factor) ...... 8-10 knots - Hydrofoil and a 13m LW kite (no fun on a TT) 10-12 knots - Hydrofoil and a 10m LW kite, Door style TT + 17m/15m kite (some fun on a TT) 12-14 Knots - Hydrofoil and a 8m LW kite, Door Style TT + 15m kite (starting...

Did anyone ever ride that big thing?

Looks heavy enough to need 20 knots just to get into the air.

Re: Smallest possible LEI kite size for best low end

Long lines make a huge difference during re-launch. I moved from 20m lines and 13 m kite to 32m lines and 10m kite.

Re: Cloud Kites A Caution

I have owned 7/9/12/14.5/17/17 C2, 3.5/5.5/8.5.13.5 .5's, 3.7/4.8/6.2/8/10.4/13.4 D's and have only worn out the main canopy on the 12m C2 due to scraping sand etc on self launches. I certainly had to have higher pressure in the 17 C2 and 13.5 to avoid wingtip bending. But they were dragging 105kg a...
