Re: Wingsurf/wingfoil, foilwing size

To Kitefoil or Wingfoil has been occupying my mind lately. I can Kitefoil well and also sell Wingfoil gear so I have access to both but haven't pursued the Wingfoil to any degree. Today I was out kitefoiling on an Axis 110cm Tray/Moses 633 combo with a 5m Peak4 kite in 10-12 knots comfortably power...

Re: Wingsurf/wingfoil, foilwing size

I started winging on a 2000cm2 AXIS (102) low aspect wing. I have since moved to their 1430cm2 AXIS (101) high aspect wing and I am winging around the same range of speeds. What I get from high aspect wing is a much more dynamic fun ride. And I suspect as I get better, I will be able to continue de...

Re: Wingsurf/wingfoil, foilwing size

It'll only make any kind of sense if used in conditions where kitefoiling isn't possible or practical, and if you are unlucky enough to have lots and lots of those conditions. I'm not, and the appeal, compared to the need to buy a massive board, and a massive foil, and a wing, isn't that high. But ...

Re: Have you tried kiting with 120m lines? This guy did!

I have 50m race lines and I was able to drop a few kite sizes. It works really well but you need a kite that de-powers well as it flies through the power zone.

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

All of those videos are good. For me there was three basic stages: 1. Figuring out how to stand up on the board holding the wing 2. Figuring how to maintain your point of balance on the board with the wing 3. Figuring out how to get up on the foil I started learning at an onshore location. So I woul...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

I thought it worthwhile revisiting the original post now that I have a little bit of experience. Anyone tried wing foiling? Now all the major kite brands are coming up with their offerings. Duotone, slingshot, cabrinha are just some examples. Yes, I have. I have used the Naish, Duotone and Gong pro...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

This has probably been answered before. Would it be realistic to try to wing foil with a Moses W633 wing? Would I need something bigger? Thank you One of Naish guys is now winging on a 1200cm2 wing, and I am now running the AXIS 101 (1430cm2). So no reason why is will not work. You need to get enou...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

I decided to remove the 440 AXIS stabiliser from my foil and give stabless a go using an AXIS 102 surf wing (2000cm2). Launched fine and immediately started bucking up and down.Once I stopped pushing and lifting my front foot and pushed my rear back (a lot) I was fine. I really enjoyed the sensation.
