Re: Naish Dash 9m (1st edition) does NOT fly

A bit similar issue as if someone says: My bike has been behaving weirdly lately. It is very heavy to pedal, I can't keep up with my friends with it. Rocks and roots hit to the rims horribly and when I press tires with my thumb they feel very soft. What should I do? Back line/front line lengths are ...

Re: Possible bridle project - old CA 7.5m

Sounds like a very old kite. Unfortunately you can't build a mixer bridle (or at least to do it for some purpose) because that kite (which very typically pulls like a truck) is not stable enough for a mixer. If I put it in other words: every single part of that kite is wrong shaped for the mixer, an...

Re: Line Check FS Soul?

But why not set it up so it flys right out of the box and then tell people to adjust it after its worked in. This would lead to a kite which has a lot of back stall after some sessions. Now kite has a some slack in the steering at first but after couple of sessions it will be more as it is meant to...

Re: vacuum ... or something else

1: wet up part with carbon and epoxy, then wrap peel ply and paper towels. Place this into a waterproof bag, then sink into a deep bucket of warm water - say, 1m deep. 2: wet up part with carbon and epoxy, then wrap peel ply and paper towels. Place this into a plastic bag, put in pit, fill pit with...

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

The bar is usually bent so it will not get so high forces. If you have a tight rope, the connection will not be as stable in the middle of the rope. If you have a bit of slack it moves in opinion more controlled from side to side and is also stable in the middle. Yes, that is true. But in practice ...

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

No, just a regular carbon plate/rope spreader bar, B is 20 cm / 8 inch on mine. See my harness, A is only about 1 inch even under load it hardly gets much more than that which is pretty close to your body, right? Of course not "zero", but zero would be the goal :D SlidingBar.jpg 8) PF Ok, it is pos...

Re: 2 lines 2.5m stunt foil kite adaptation to 4 lines bar

norcom: Apparently some Genesis kites have for some reason very loose brakes (or at least that one had which I tuned). That makes kite turn very slowly, almost non reacting to steering input. So first correction is to shorten Z some 10-20cm and try again. Kite itself is ok after it is tuned up and t...

Re: Sliding spreader bar dimensions

A is close to zero on mine :D So the bar can come as close to you as possible, and it slides well. 8) PF Interesting. I know only one method how this distance can be shortened from the usual and I've invented it. If rope is attached like it is drawn in the OP's picture it can never be as close to b...

Re: DIY AR6 closed cell Quadrifoil Style

Yeah makes sense with the billow, I also remember measuring the strap tension on a Jojo wings Racemaster kite which was close to the value i used. It was 2 months ago dont remember exactly anymore. But how much dictates billow the lower skin because two positive pressures act against each other (ou...

Re: DIY AR6 closed cell Quadrifoil Style

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Yes I know with the tip air intakes i actually don´t know anymore why I put them there but it wont have a negative effect I think/hope. It had something to do with that the blue cloth (because it was a recycled reserve parachute which has not been used) It was so hard t...
