Re: What is the oldest kite you are still using?

Within last two years FS Maniac 2003(?) (with completely redesigned bridle and modern 1:2:4 mixer). Much better kite than Pansh Genesis and quite comparable to kite like Ozone Access etc. Psycho3 2006(?) I've used many times and it is still usable kite, I prefer it to most contemporary foil kites. L...

Re: The Monjet Ninox

A zombie, a living dead? I hope it is not dead but hybrid design risks to combine bad properties of both; excess weight of foil kite and excess drag of single skin kite. I designed few Ninox type kites but I couldn't make myself sure it is reasonable, more like it is not. I also had to stretch the u...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Longer bar may stall inner wingtip but outer wingtip which really does the turn flies more freely (if bar is angled in usual way). But because you don't have to turn longer bar too much it just offers an option to turn kite more effectively compared to short bar which would need uncomfortable fish p...

Re: Liquid force High Y adjuster gizmo

Of course High Y adjuster makes low V bar suitable for "high Y kite" but it is unnecessary because same effect can be had by extending back line leaders of high Y kite. Even more unnecessary is to buy new inferior bar with high Y. To think having "high Y" at 18m distance from the kite makes it fly b...

Re: Liquid force High Y adjuster gizmo

Has anyone used the Liquid force High Y adjuster gizmo.. I use Slingshot bars and was thinking of picking up a used Rebel or maybe Evo...Not having to buy a new bar would be nice. Thanks That gizmo makes front lines go through the bend which makes them effectively a bit shorter. How much depends on...

Re: Flysurfer Soul

I was today on 15m Soul with normal size bar (52 or 55cm) and it felt quite slow. I looped it once and I was close to crash it which would have been embarrassing. But I guess I didn't crank it hard enough because my hand is so used to LEI kites nowadays. 17m LEI turns much faster than 15m Soul and v...

Re: Reliability and quality of Elf kites

I've done some repair work on Joker, it was Joker 5 if I think. Build quality is decent but fabric was a bit weird having unsymmetrical rip stop pattern and not so high quality feel. Bridle attachment points were simple, not much reinforced (I repaired few of them and some seams). Specs of the kite ...

Re: The "why does my pump hose not fit the inflate" explained.

Yes, it is a stupid mess. But all you need has been available for ages: a Boston valve. Adapter for Boston is very usual and has a conical shape for a reason - it fits all time every time. When you stick that firmly into the valve it doesn't come loose. My experience with Boston also hasn’t been fl...

Re: 15m light wind kites Juice/Turbine/Zypher

Strutless and single strut kites advantage in low winds is not at all only because of their low weight. They have a lot of lift area, thick LE/airfoil shape, a lot of build in AoA. Result is powerful grunty kite but upper end of wind range is usually compromised. I'd recommend these for heavy riders...
