Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

Would be really nice. For me, Landkiting/Snowkiting is an important part of the sport. Absolutely. If there was category for Woo on snow it would make some real interest. Skis and snowboard perhaps should have their own categories and possibly skates too. However boosting high on hard surface has m...

fernmanus wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 10:59 pm An easy solution would be to add snowkiting and landkiting under board type on Woo instead of squirreling it away in a separate portal. They already do that for winging and hydrofoil. Seems to me that would be a good way to handle instead of deleting real...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

I understand where you are coming from, but you need to experience deep powder kiting in hills or mountains to understand the possibilities. If you bomb downhill and then send your "jump", it's some kind of mix of jumping and gliding, but still mostly gliding. You get assistance from downhill speed...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

The smaller the kite is the shorter chord it has. This means small kite changes more AoA for same bar sheeting distance than big kite. Normal bar should have plenty of range to depower and power up 8m high aspect kite using normal speed system. If you have more efficient mixer less bar movement is n...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

My next plan is to correct the bad profile behind the "mast" with Bauch-weg-flaps - I shall try to fix it with double tape during the flight when the wind blows the profile in :o Video to follow :cool2: https://up.picr.de/47179223mz.jpg I don't think tape will be strong enough. If you want to make ...

Re: Want to break the Woo World Record, go snowkiting

Perhaps, it is not possible, but I would rather hear that from an engineer at Woo. Kitexpert, you don’t know what a glide is and you have no idea that it is easy to jump over 10m on the snow. Yet you give your opinion. Okay, you are lacking in knowledge when it comes to snow kiting. The best kiting...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Good answers and points. I'm not against big LEI kites at all, I've owned many and tested even more. I just don't see 20m or bigger LEI happen because there is really very few people who would benefit it being potential customers. I'm quite certain that is how brands see it. Designing big LEI kite i...

Re: Stalling 10m Evo 2021

I'm not sure if you are answering to my post but anyway: If wind is strong you give your backlines a bit more length, this equals pulling trimmer in or pushing bar further out. When you do it already when attaching lines you gain some more depowering range. If wind is weak you don't want to depower...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

Great work to get it done, certainly not the easiest project to sew from stiff fabric :thumb: Hope it will last so you can see how much potential it has. Pressure always finds the weak spot so it should be well made to last. Best Nemesis had quite thin LE long time ago, if I remember correct it was ...

Re: Stalling 10m Evo 2021

Bullocks, sorry to say... Equal line lenghts can, if you are lucky, work with some kites under certain conditions. But almost like winning in the lottery  It can be the default trim before you fly any kite, agree, but apart from that, of no use IMO  Different riders, different wind,...
