Re: Soul v1 10m dropping like a stone after jumps

I'd suggest trying a couple of things. First off, you might want to try adjusting your bridle attachment points. Moving them towards the wingtips can often widen the kite's profile, giving you more stability. If that doesn't quite do the trick, you could also try adding a bit of extra tension to th...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

It seems to work well in video but it should be remembered those speeds 50-63kmh are not fast at all from the kite perspective. I've ridden over 10km in a row 60-70kmh and it was just cruising, really nothing special. What limits the speed is drag and surface quality, not the kites. In very high spe...

Re: Naish Aluula Prototype

Nice looking kite and very usual looking kite. Every piece is like it has used to be: same segments, same panels, same struts, same LE, same AR, same wingtip shape, same arc, same bridle (or is there one or two more lines ?)... But hey, they have new "bladder caps" :D I see only two possibilities: 1...

Re: Nalu Kai QR patent - expired

If you look closely of those "inventions" you may think kite surfing industry is not the arena of the brightest engineering minds... You can also wonder: is it possible to patent anything? So nostalgic to see "velcro thing" which F-one stuck on for very late years, like beach toy valves. C'est bon! ...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

8m Nemesis has 32cm LE circumference, so LE diameter is a bit over 10cm. So measuring flat uninflated would be: 16cm for the 8m nemesis. That is what I would call radically thin. I think its safe to say there is nothing big air oriented even approaching that today in production. Interesting. Yes, l...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

Best nemesis was indeed a good kite design, with the today concept in mind, but it was not accepeted. At that time what pro riders wanted was totally different, they demanded heavy pulling C kites, very stable and powerfull wide loop, little depower. I tested once the best nemisis pro, (non cuben),...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

I don’t think the force has a radically thinner le does it? Just “average” thin? Im guessing not as thin as the lf wow did, or brm clouds, for example. My super scientific measuring on the 9m leading edge from the centre while it was laying in my garage un-inflated: 1. Harlem Force - 22cm 2. '24 Or...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

They pumped it with a normal pump - that means that the pressure was not higher than 15 PSI and that´s still pretty low compared to a bike for example (70 PSI) 8) But why this huge pressure is needed? If you are not very heavy guy usual LE - or even thin LE like in Nemesis - is rigid enough when in...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

And it is not that certain kites become better if LE diameter is made smaller and pressure increased. It's not a new idea at all, about 15 years ago first thin LE kites (with partially dyneema LE) became available They pumped it with a normal pump - that means that the pressure was not higher than ...

Re: rumour: fone's new kite uses brainchild technology

Welding , for now still in combination with stitching, allows a higher pressure and smaller leading edge Really? I guess there is still main seam for LE because it is very difficult to understand how kite is put together and repaired without it. Seams between segments are much less strained and I d...
