Re: The "why does my pump hose not fit the inflate" explained.

Yes, it is a stupid mess. But all you need has been available for ages: a Boston valve. Adapter for Boston is very usual and has a conical shape for a reason - it fits all time every time. When you stick that firmly into the valve it doesn't come loose. My experience with Boston also hasn’t been fl...

Re: 15m light wind kites Juice/Turbine/Zypher

Strutless and single strut kites advantage in low winds is not at all only because of their low weight. They have a lot of lift area, thick LE/airfoil shape, a lot of build in AoA. Result is powerful grunty kite but upper end of wind range is usually compromised. I'd recommend these for heavy riders...

Re: 15m light wind kites Juice/Turbine/Zypher

The importance of light light wind kite cannot be overstated! It can, and it is done all the time. I use on TT 17m 5 strut kite and issue of not being able to keep it in the air comes much much later than the limit to get going on TT. I don't even know how much it weighs. In 10kn every kite stays i...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

Good answer. It really is a pity when diy kite maker is limited by practical issues like projects becoming too laborious for experiment freely. Ideally kite bottom skin should have bridle attachment point on every 5% or so, then real mixer/camber testing would be possible. But having span wise strap...

Re: DIY Foil Kites

Also have the possibility to switch from A lines at 7% to 10% chord to see the effect on depower and stability. At previous kites I went with 10% On BCZ I have the possibilities to run with deltaAB=deltaBC=deltaCZ or delta AB<deltaBC<deltaCZ to increase camber and delay backstall when pulling the b...

Re: ParAAvis Smile III

As far as I can see mixer is some kind of Turbo variant which pulls brakes more than usually. So your interpretation compared to Soul seems to be upside down. Soul has a classic 1:2:4 which pulls kite evenly, this Smile bridle pulls brakes more. Kite looks pretty good, but I'd say not quite as smoot...

Re: Big Nexus 2 - light wind

13,5m kite isn't definitely a big kite and 77kg is middle weight, not light weight rider. I weight a bit less and use on light wind days 17m kite for TT, and it is more like too small than big. If wind is about 10kn you may be able to ride back and forth and make some small jumps with a 17m LEI. 19m...
