Re: Fortaleza Nov Trip Info

"Wind is strong for foiling, at 90kg I often use 8m on tt,mostly 9m, rarely 10. Dont think you will foil on light days, they dont happen in Nov and if they do you will want/nead a break." Its difficult to give direct advice, without knowing one's preference... Me for example, I enjoy foiling in hig...

Re: Fortaleza Nov Trip Info

Best Wave spot is Paracuru. But no accommodations on the beach...need to drive to get there. Taiba also gets a nice wave, here you can find places on the beach...Google it Cumbuco is the sure thing. Lots of restaurants, acomodations and supermarket around. Everything close by. Although it can get b...

Re: carbon vs Alu mast

I think Kami you mentioned on another thread that you found the hoverglide mast to be flexy, or something to that effect. If that is maybe what you are referring to, I know what you mean. I don't think it's the mast per se, since the actual slingshot masts are as stiff as hell, but more an issue wi...

Re: looking for a new Lightwind tubekite Help!

My experience is with 3 strut wave kites only, but I have found that there is no real benefit at my weight (195lbs) and equipment (Lift 150) to a 12m. I can go down to 8/9 knots (in warm thermal wind) with a 10m and 23m lines depending on tides and current. The low end of a 12m might be slightly lo...

Re: Liquid force Impulse v Moses Onda 91

Thank you both for your replies. Macster,I am looking for a comparison with the Onda 633 which I believe is more stable than the 683s? My concerns re Moses are the sharp edges on the wings and mast, seen a few people with nasty cuts from them (the Impulse is more rounded ,less sharp and less likely ...

Re: looking for a new Lightwind tubekite Help!

100% one strut, I have taught with three from different brands and my favourite is the ozone alpha. its relaunch in low winds is phenomenal, no power spike when looping the kite, ie ideal for foiling. its the only kite that I have sweet dreams over, its just insanely good to play, have fun with.......

Re: my learning progession on a hydrofoil

I just re-read my last post on july 18… I had then 620 hours of foiling then … I am now at 748hours of foiling and I know I am still Improving, but to the untrained eye… not much difference. I still practice on a racing foil (Spotz TUNA) and a slow foil (Impulse from Liquid Force). I have probably ...

Re: Slingshot fkite choice: Space skate 65 vs Infinity 76

For a 65kg kiter seeking for the lightest winds it makes more sense to get one of these bigger wings or a lighter/foil kite? I have the impression that once I get the kite up in the air the size of the wing is not much of an issue. Today I ride a 9m sst but need at least a decent breeze to get it g...

Re: Which kite is the easiest to re-lunch at low winds?

only a foil will launch when the winds drop below 5 knots. I find the tube kites are much the same, has to be enough wind to get them up so it's better to never crash them in the first place. Once you know the inner center line outer rear line trick, it's more about how much the tube kite weighs th...
