Re: The Naish Wing-Surfer

This is definitely interesting. I do however find it a bit surprising all the companies are developing them as it seems like such a niche item. It seems like the main application for this is to be used with a sup foil or to a lesser extent with a normal sup in the waves. This seems like a very niche...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

[ Evidence for performance: 1. Going faster is quantifiable in measured speed for which strapped absolutely beats strapless 2. Handling chop better is quantifiable with how far and at what top speed you can enter, and continue through chop - Do you actually think you can handle chop better, at a hig...

Re: Is strapless overrated?

I have seen a few posts and articles like this ( referring to the original post) where it seems like the author is a little butt hurt because they feel like they are ripping but because they ride strapped they don't get the recognition they feel they deserve. The truth is that as a whole the kitesur...

Re: Ultra v2 what size after 12m and 9m for wave/foil?

I’m using Ultra v2 12m and 9m for foiling and love it. I wanted do start riding wave on directional with it (I never tried, went to strapless foiling from TT). Is it worth going with smaller Ultras and what size to get? It’s either 6+4 or 7+5. So far whet it was nuking I was doing big air on 7m XR5...

Re: The most complete Wave Kitesurfing spots guide

Not very complete at all!.... For a start you missed out NZ which kicks Australia's arse for waves! New Zealand does not and never will kick Australia's arse for waves!! Australia has vastly more coastline across three different oceans, across many different climates and terrains, everything from t...

Re: The most complete Wave Kitesurfing spots guide

Hello, I just released a guide of 20 of the best destination on earth to ride waves with a kite. There was no relevant information about it found on Google, so I thought it could be useful :D Plus for the laziest ones, there is a map of the destinations / spots, per month :thumb: For 10 years I hav...

Re: Fastest animals in the ocean are......

I like the idea of the soft skin and have always thought the construction and durability of traditional surfboards is a bit ridiculous. I guess when the soft skin is applied to a foil board the main purpose is to make it more durable as once the board is flying the soft skin is no longer in contact ...

Re: Cloud vs Reo.

I'm totally opposite I guess. Been flying Clouds for two years and stopped using all other kites. Tried the Ultra and really didn't like it. Slow and barge-like compared to Clouds. Ultras are not a wave kite, they just don't drift well enough. Once you get REALLY used to the timing of the Clouds (o...

Re: Airush Ultra: one strut kite that meets expectations of a ram air lover

Thanks Mike. I have 145 lightwind Crazyfly TT but mostly ride surfboards in the 5'8 size fairly wide with smaller kites 185 lbs. The 14 can be a bit much in the surf sometimes. The idea here is to replace the older 14 with something newer for those marginal days when I just want to get out and ride...

Re: Beginner kite- Core XR5 or Naish Pivot

Definitely go the pivot over the xr5, 3 struts vs 5 equals better stability and easier to use, easier for a beginner, also pivot is a better all-rounder when you consider it's pretty decent in waves as well The pivot is more popular and common therefore easier to find second hand and easier to resell
