Re: Dealing with a real world death loop in 30 knot conditions

It may be quickly coincidental, but I had a death loop experience using the Cabrinha bar 3 winters ago. The original video here brought back that unpleasant memory. So perhaps it is helpful I discuss it for my own therapy and perhaps for others. I didn't have on a GoPro. Foiling on a cold winter day...

Re: Please help to open SA beaches for kitesurfers

Would have to agree that many of the restrictions and/or recommendation are not evidence based or even make common sense For example like recommending and allowing bandanas or single layer clothes as masks in a confined space....but what to do as there really is NOT good epidemiological data on beac...

Re: I bought a speedboard!

Love kiting that spot especially when it's a NEer and the butter flat water.....or foiling when it's a Southerly when the sand heats up and the only place for miles that has breeze I have only gone 42 mph on my TwinTip overpowered but was not significantly overpowered Which was definitely faster tha...

Re: Kite foiling is dying sooo fast

Ummm, there are alot of used Wings now available Honestly though, for those of us who love to be on the water kiting and kite foiling, most of us would prefer that our local sites don't have further growth in the kite market. i.e. it would be less intrusive to have a bunch of Wings and large boards ...

Re: Feeling in foiling: 1 strut kite vs foil kite

Remember that is depends on your riding area. If it's gusty with major lulls, a foil kite might become a pain, for those occasional times it bow ties and hits the water. If you jibes are absolutely solid, and the breeze is not a lake (gusty/lulls), then a foil kite is the way to go. Also ideally hav...

Re: have you guys watched this, its sure to give you a heart attack

Would be nice if Oracle offered all their video gear and drones etc for kite racing, but then it would be too expensive for competitors. Having a small gps unit on each board/person with at least 2-3 drones and 1 powerboat on the water running the drones, would certainly give more info, which was si...

Re: Airush Ultra 12m as Main Kite for Twin-Tipping

Given that you are kiting on an In-Land lake with alot of lulls in the breeze and doing some drift launching, the Airush Ultra does make sense, as one option. Partly since it will stay aloft in the severe lulls, is a stable kite, has easy relaunch, and stays relatively light when trying to drift lau...

Re: Kevin Langeree leaving Naish...

I will happily buy into his new brand and gig, as he will be at the top of the company. Although I am old enough to respect the heck out of Robby Naish, he was one of my legends when I sailed with a wishbone instead of a bar, but KevLog takes the cake over most sporting legends even 20 years ago. An...

Re: La Ventana in May

I'm also interested as it appears one of the outfitters in Los Barriles closes midApril and things appear to shutdown in La Ventana ?

I'm headed to La Ventana very end of April...would bring a foil if there is light-moderate summer winds ?
