Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Another 10-20 knot day foiling with Peak 4, 5m. It handled the whole range well, ... Exactly as for me with the 3 m in 12 - 24 knts. :D Maybe the 5 m would have been more fun more powered, but could also have been too much overpowered. And I agree here with tomtom that singleskin better are used mo...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

Hi Denisesewa, thanks again for all the research and sharing. About element, I also think the higher speed is something that even increases sensation, but even if it is allready good for beginning, especially for heavier riders the cruizer is much better and easier, and also a bit more high performa...

Re: Duotone Daytona - high performance freerace foil

If they aren't using high (or ultra-high) modulus carbon they are stupid. Big words and I don't think so. In my eyes normal carbon is the material to build an affortable freerace foil. Ultra-high, etc. is just for those realy into racing and wants to show of and or pay the price. The few seen about...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

@Tadeusz: Yes I also think a race style body position also helps for monofoil control, but maybe not in all points: - a bit wider footstance, if even not as wide as on a raceboard is for me necessary to reach speeds above 30 km/h, but - I don't angle hip as much as this is in my eyes just necessary ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi Slappysan, don't worry it is more about handling. Biggest most typical error you also see people relaunching closed cell foils: Don't oversheet (pulling in backlines) too much for backwards relaunch. Otherwise the trailing edge will colapse as you see in the video. If you, by experience, find the...

Re: Monofoil or "riding stabless", setup and riding

@flying grandpa Hi Tadeusz, I think what you said is more or less what I also feel. I control speed same as on a normal foil by course and kite position. The named 80 cm (span) foil from Gong was not directly to big for my 63 kg, but hard to start with small pocket boards. I will experiment with big...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

@Denisesewa: Hi, never used a cloud but a stormkite voyager 1 in about 9 m. I think both are round about similar in how worse the l/d ratio is. And maybe also in variability of turning radius. But the rest will be pretty much different. As long your board speed downwind never exceed wind speed the P...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Sorry for the delay, but the special effects editor was obviously not available, as actually on a new Holywood blockbuster. So I had to do it again the shity style I prefer and used a lot of water drops on the lens and sidecuts to hide the helping people and boats. But maybe you like it anyway: http...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Quote windrider: "So where is the video of these 98 percent releaunches . Strange you have presented only photos and words so far. I tested the 8m in about 8 knts and had a zero relaunch rate with about 6 or 7 dips. May be the wind was too low considering 8 kts is not enough to kitesurf but I can t...
