visiting Sandy Hook NJ

going to be in the sandy hook area this weekend for a wedding and the forecast looks good. My wife is in the wedding and i have nothing to do all day saturday.

Is there a place to rent gear and get out on sandy hook bay?

Any suggestions would be awesome.

thanks

Re: FCS II fins for Slingshot Screamer

Anything will be an upgrade over the stock fins, way too much flex for kiting.

I have an angry swallow, similar board, and went with a MR Twins set of fins. Such a huge upgrade in upwind pointing.

i have the same board, the stock fins are not stiff enough. I got a set of MR twins and the was amazed at how much better i went up wind.

Re: Angry Swallow fin configurations

You can absolutely tell the difference between plastic fins and the higher quality ones.

I noticed the difference when i switched to a more quality setup in the first 50 yards off the beach. Much better upwind with quality stiff fins.

Re: Angry Swallow fin configurations

i have that same board, started with the included fins running as a quad. The provided fins are not so great. I switched to the FSC 2, MR twins set. Up wind was so much better, it was amazing and noticeable on the first trip out off the beach. At first i thought it must be that the wind was a little...

Re: quad vs two fins?

To add to the questions, if not answers: Anyone try MR or AMT twin fin sets, plus or minus the small trailer, for kiting? Like these: http://futuresfins.com.s3.amazonaws.com/img/product_page_images/Product_Thumbnails/twinkeel_amt.jpg any thoughts? i just put the MR's on my 2015 slingshot angry swal...

Re: quad vs two fins?

just picked up a new board, Slingshot Angry Swallow. It has the option to run any combo or 5 fins.

Wanted to see what the general consensus was on setups to achieve different goals, like best of up wind, best for speed and wave kiting.

thanks,
JBL
