Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

In real world applications the knot will exceed needed strength several times over.

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

Yes, I saw that. Their example was trimmed super close, like almost flush. How about leaving 1cm tail with heat shrink cap?

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

Apologies for massive backtracking here but wondering what knot would be best to secure a stainless steel ring to the depower line? (See Peter's photo, top bar seniero) Yes I could easily splice a loop and then larkshead to the ring but still want to consider a knot. The resulting reduced line stre...

Re: Standalone ChickenLoop QuickRelease?

Following up on this older topic: Peter Frank, what did you settle on? Agreed, it'd be great to have a QR that could take single 6mm and be secured with a knot like the previous generation Ozone. The trend on new gear seems to be PU covered depower lines which usually means something like 2.5mm line...

Re: North Launches The Reach

Does anyone care that the canopy is "only" 2x ripstop? Does it really matter? FWIW I demoed a 12m and loved it.

Re: Infexion Seatbelt Quick Release

If in doubt, to prevent the possibility of a knot slipping just put a few stitches of whipping twine through the knot. I use Marlow Ropes No 4 whipping twine. You can also unbraid some old kite line and use one of the bundles as whipping. That way you have the same material running through the knot...

Re: Bar for naish kites?

I am using an Ozone bar with my Naish kites. Naish bar depower throw is lot longer than Ozone bar. Naish kites not fully depowered as should be with Ozone bar when sheeted out. I can confirm this. A friend of mine was struggling with the high end of his Naish Pivot 2019 kites with an Ozone bar. He ...
