I don't really understand why Core gets so much stick on price against other manufacturers... Ozone Edge is pretty much the same price and the Rebel costs more, these are the top comparable kites. I just got a 12 and 9 XR5 last month after demoing the XR4 many times. In my opinion it's the best kite...

I find my below the bar tricky at the top end of the kites range, i have to stop to adjust it.

I tested a friends 'Red' a few times, it has a soft flex so it's nice and forgiving. If you are already riding upwind, doing transitions and some small jumps then just go straight to the monk. If you are just freeriding it will be perfect as you improve and progress.

+1 for Shinn, I have used the monk and I own the Bronq. Very little spray from both, I ride the 135x41 (I'm 85kg).
