Re: Inflatable Boards for Winging

I'm curious as to which manufacturer will be first though, to customise the drop-stitch strand lengths to provide serious contouring.soft side rails aren't so bad but it's much more efficient to have actual corners, edges at the stern of the boards to promote planing and release of water in wake. T...

Re: Eleveight Process 2021 vs Cabrinha Spectrum 2014

Why just these 2 boards? You have plenty of options in this price range. 2014 board for 300 eur is a bit too much (not to mention the outdated graphic design of the Spectrum 2014), for just a bit more you can buy a 2019 or 2020 Spectrum. In any case, for your weight and skill level I'd go for the la...

Re: Custom Sail material

I don't think the aluula tech can be easily tuned for a canopy. For proper weight saving (on which I agree makes little sense) it needs to be less than 40gsm. Shaving off 35gsm will be a true challenge! Low bias stretch is even bigger challenge, considering that the current aluula doesn't shine here...

Re: Duotone 2021 Clickbar for foiling

Get the Infexion bar with their Seatbelt QR. No chicken loop though, but for foiling you don't really need one.
Ingenious concept with only one QR attached to your harness, rather than a QR for every bar you own.
Front or back lines trim, they offer both

Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

Yes, it's about residual breaking strength after certain amount of wear. What actually matters here is: - size (diameter/cross section), with the Ozone having roughly 35% larger cross section than DC-401. - coating. not all coatings have same abrasion and wear resistance. - raw material. Actually SK...

Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

@Ozone Kites AUS - Ozone bars are high quality, no arguing here :) Just sharing my experience - I like my Enduros flown on a shorter, high quality lines. The Liros DC-401 are rated at 580kg, the steering and power lines on OR Shift bar are the same thickness/strength. I've seen these ridiculous bre...

Re: Aluula? New Revolutionary Material from Ocean Rodeo

I'm considering getting an Aluula Roam 8m, and am wondering what brand/model of bar to get for it. Is the Ocean Rodeo bar for this kite any good, or does anyone have any other better quality recommendations? Ocean Rodeo's Shift bar is one of the best offerings on the market for me - if you enjoy a ...

Re: Custom Sail material

CZ = Code Zero or Code 0. Mylar laminated ripstop or tafeta with or without additional aramid or polyester reinforcement. Manufactured by DP, Contender and Challenge. CF doesn't work for canopy as it shrinks heavily when it wrinkles (flutter, packing, etc). The shrinking doesn't happen in the seams ...

Re: Custom Sail material

So CF was bought out by North Sails altho they are selling it to anyone via a specialized subsidiary. A cf North Orbit? The CF you are referring to was bought by DSM (Dyneema): https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Dyneema_Composite_Fabric CF (now DCF) doesn't work as a canopy, has been tried and tested year...
