Re: Swimming pool propulsion foiling?

+1 for turbulence being a deal breaker. Foiling behind a boat (away from the prop turbulence) in a calm lake and in Rhein river (~7kmh current) makes a noticeable difference. What you can do is practice with a balance board (wirh a roll, not the inflated pillow) - the body weight distribution and mu...

Re: tired of Sun on my hands

Why don't you consider another out of the box and off the shelf option?

And you can also DIY - fiberglass, carbon, Innegra.. ;)

Re: tired of Sun on my hands...

Now seriously - isn't ripstop too stiff for a glove. And I hope you don't mean canopy ripstop new with coating on?! If your main issue is water absorption why don't you try some polyprop fabrics? Like this one Helly Hensen use since ages. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JM242O/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_...

Re: Aluula\SLS alternatives ?

Eleveight also use the same fabric as the SLS in their OS (One strut) model. Maybe similar but not the same. SLS/PentaTX dacron comes from Challenge Sailcloth and is made in Thailand. As per E/8 website the XT Extreme High Tenacity Cloth ( wow!!! ) comes from Teijin and is made in Japan (the latter...

Re: Aluula\SLS alternatives ?

... Is added stiffness for kites definitely good? Or just in order to reduce le diameter and have similar flex as before? There is another important aspect of the 'stiffness' (technically correct - modulus of elasticity or just elongation/stretch). Every inflatable LE has the closing seam on the in...

Re: Complete set for a beginner friend

Being a gym instructor will surely help him hold the edge when overpowered than being a beginner ride upwind underpowered.

I'd go for 13-14m and 141-145cm low rocker board.

Re: North Sonar 1500R real world opinions pls

the 1500R is my favorite wing in the North Sonar range. It is really stable, but still super agile on the 60cm Fuselage. I use it a lot, especially in very turbulent conditions where high AR wings tend to be more sensitive to turbulance in the wave. -- Gunnar Thanks Gunnar! I did think of asking yo...

Re: VAT return for a new kite?

Yes, if you happen to have a non-EU passport ;) The rest is explained on the websites of many major EU airports; https://www.frankfurt-airport.com/en/airport-guide/help-at-the-airport/vat-refunds.html There are 2 other options involving the shop, but it's more complicated and I doubt there are many/...

Re: Duotone Rebel SLS 2022

But do we a confirmation if there will be a regular Rebel? It disappeared from the webpage. Nope, only SLS Haha where did you get that from? I had a look at a file named 'Launching Dates DTK 2022' a couple of months ago. There was only a Rebel SLS there with a launch date 13.10. If they have update...
