Re: Light wind TT board length/width

There is one other point about race boards...... people had them to RACE. Then all racing changed to Hydrofoils (I can't think off hand of any race board events at all anymore?) so all the racers changed to foils...... IMHO race boards were a tool for a job. LW TT's are a different animal to foils a...

Re: Light wind TT board length/width

I don't believe that "doors" are dying but certainly their appeal is dwindling for alot of people. Yes the foil does perform better in light winds if you have enough water... and I emphasis IF. Take a trip to some very popular kite destinations..... Hamata or El Gouna in Egypt for example. Both have...

Re: Any tips for a heavy and tall beginner ?

Hi Collider, Just a small point.... whilst the Superking Classic fit fills the same category of XL TT in the range it is a completely new board compared to the King Gee. The King Gee was an elliptical concave design whilst the Super King features our Split Concave...... creating long channels that a...

Re: Shinn K2 Foil - Progression accelerator

Yes you can o problem but I don't think you will need to. The K2 set up is starting at very similar speeds to the P wing.......... for myself I don't need a larger wing than this as the power needed to water start is already more than enough power to start foiling.........

Re: Shinn K2 Foil - Progression accelerator

Hi Windigo, the K2 is €200 more expensive than a standard Shinn foil. The standard wings are made in glass with carbon re-enforcements. The K2 wingset is made in High Modulous Textreme Carbon which is around 8 times more expensive than glass cloth. This is the reason for the price difference.

Re: Recommended Hydrofoil for Big Air?

Personally I don't like to go too small a wing for jumping...... I find the best technique to get height is to bear off and when you send the kite to pitch the foil upwards and literally sail it up out of the water into the jump. Making the traditional edge and POP seems to drag the foil upwards thr...

Re: Foil boards with minimal volume (built like a twin tip)

I'm testing both thicker boards and thinner boards all the time and for starting I don't find a significant difference. With the lower volume boards it is easier to handle the board in the water (especially strapless) but once up I find the wing size to be far more important than the board. Once the...

Re: Shinn Jackson - Sunburner

Hi all, There was an issue with the pads sticking that was caused by the gloss lacquer. We use a UV curing lacquer and it appears there is a residue on the finished lacquer that reacts with the 3M adhesive. Not many boards had this issue and if yours did then I can only apologise. The Sunburner does...
