Re: Tuning of foil kites

The Z-row can be extended to match the A-row again, either with an extension pigtail or by moving the steering lines further out, on the knots inside the bar floaters. I would suggest to lengthen Z-main instead of lengthening your steering lines. The latter will move the mixer out en therefore limi...

Re: Long mixer test on speed 3

Nice video, but I have to say I could only follow it roughly using YouTube translate. Is there a chance you can make a better translation?

Did you account for span-wise differences in the line shrinkage?

Re: Harness with Sliding spreader bar

Best I´ve ever experienced is: Carbon spreader bar (rideengine 2016 model) with rope plus a Ronstan Orbit 20 block connected to a Cabrinha Fireball Bar´s QR (without the original Fireball piece). Totally friction-less, super-smooth movement with minimal distance between the rope and the quick relea...

Re: Self Landing Foilkites in 20+kts

For me the safest way is to drop the kite on the edge of the wind window at about 5 feet from the land and then backstall it and very important for me is to keep walking or running parrallel to the kite until the kite is straight downwind and then from this point I teather it to something rock soli...

Re: New foil kite in a hail storm

I have always been told not to start/land tethered with a foil kite. Since it is not a rigid structure like a LEI it might go wrong in case of gusts/unstable wind. For a LEI kite, tethered is about the safest way to start/land if no assistant is available. For a foil I would self start most often si...

I had the same when the Speed5 came out. Send Flysurfer a mail and they will put it on-line.

Re: The problem with flysurfer mixers.

Yes BUT you can achieve the same and in fact better results without the SPL swap. If your pulley lines are worn sure swap them, but trust me you'll be getting less than a quarter of the life out of pulley lines if you are swapping them just for shrink. Then there is the upper bridle shrink which yo...

Re: Speed 3 bridle stretching how to

I would recommend not to stretch, but to enlarger or shorten the affected bridle lines by adding loops to lengthen the bridle at the LCL. This is also the practice in paragliding.

The problem with stretching is that it will always move back after a while.
